Poolside is one of Verheij’s deepest most dreamy productions, inspired by an Ibiza poolside experience. The keys were played in one take and only lightly modified for release. Nuno Dos Santos takes the original and adds a raw edge and a driving groove. Petar Dundov is not only remixer but also the initiator of this EP. Originally released as the B-side of Rita & Lynn on EC Records in 2008, Poolside was never one of Secret Cinema’s biggest tracks. But it was Dundov’s favorite and we absolutely agree with him that this is a hidden gem. His remix is an ode to the original with a 2016 twist.

In December 2009, Gem Records was born when it released GEM001 ‘Egbert – Dezelfde Weg’. Nine years later, Egbert graces the label with its 60th release.  

Fractals EP is a double A-side with ‘Fractals’ representing Egbert’s pumping dancefloor techno and ‘Zachtaardig’ his signature melodic sound. Ramon Tapia has been killing it with dancefloor shaking EP’s coming out left and right on Octopus, Elevate, his own Say What and now Gem Records. Both cuts on the Yellow Screen EP are peak time techno A-sides.  Strong support from Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Karotte, Pan-Pot

The Belgian based artist has championed a variety of genres, all tied together by the irresistible funk that keeps his audience in a hypnotic state of movement. Yellow Screen EP consists of the title track which combines a Born Slippy style kick drum echo with rattling highs and an eerie main synth line. AA-side Exposure features a nasty saw tooth theme over a relentless rolling techno banger with Beyer and Cox written all over it. Hitting all stores on April 19.   

With Gem Records set to release EPs by Egbert, Transcode, VNTM and Christopher Kah over the next few months, these are heady times for a label that continues to be rewarded for its consistent and innovative approach to contemporary electronic music.

An international headlining artist known for his sets in Berghain, Space Ibiza, Womb Tokio, Watergate, his frequent Elrow gigs or headlining every major festival in the Netherlands. Gem Records label boss responsible for moving the careers of Egbert, Enrico Sangiuliano and Reinier Zonneveld forward. Steady producer of countless essential techno classics for over 25 years. One of the most original and down to earth pioneers of electronic music on the planet. All legitimate ways to describe Jeroen Verheij a.k.a. Secret Cinema.
