salam ! 

i thought it important to stay true to the emotions that birthed seed. so the first one is from me 

i found this process very difficult, got stuck in the headspace of wanting to make it a good ‘mix’ but it just not working while staying true to these feelings. and i realised that it’s not meant to be make sense, feeling these emotions simultaneously is jarring, it’s abrupt highs and lows, it’s stop and start, it’s silence. cold and warm. it’s the meddling of flow following slight cohesion- conflicting. it’s disrupted diversions into altering soundscapes

i had a go at this a few times, and this version was my last attempt. i cried the whole way through and it was on that very spicy full moon, it’s raw- but it’s honest

In spirit this picks up my solo electronic synthesis roots, where my first album “Moving Pictures” left off. This is where I started and in my heart I have never really left! 

All music performed live or live with overdub on an Elta Music Solar 42N and a Windows11 minibook. Music was rehearsed and each track was recorded as a single take other than any overdubs. Pieces performed full length; the fades are part of the live performances.

The Chuwi minibook runs a single instance of Native Instruments Kontakt for manually triggered clips created for the performances, and for additional percussion using Sonuscore’s Fragments. The output runs directly into the Solar for processing, with the main output coming from the Solar.

Winter Steppes

This expansive electronic soundscape invites listeners on an immersive journey through boundless sonic realms. Deep, evolving pads create a foundation of serene mystery, while shimmering arpeggios and ethereal melodies weave intricate patterns across a vast, atmospheric canvas. Subtle, pulsating rhythms provide a gentle forward momentum, driving the exploration through moments of profound tranquility and awe-inspiring grandeur. Ideal for cinematic scores, scientific documentaries, or any production seeking to evoke feelings of discovery, cosmic wonder, or deep contemplation. The meticulous layering of synthesizers, from resonant bass tones to sparkling high-end textures, crafts a rich, enveloping experience designed to transport the listener to uncharted territories of imagination.
