As many of you may know loving and caring for one another is something we stand by and is something much needed in these trying times. If this year has been hard on anyone it is those who unfortunately became a refugee. That is why we have decided to support those in need. Because there is very little we can individually do, our common goal is to raise money for various charities, so they can do the work we can not.

Because music has the ability to cheer up, heal and connect those who listen to it, it is music through which we hope to help. In the past few months Oriental Deep has started collaborations with 13 artists. Every single one of them has made a masterpiece to put together into an album named “Ishtar”. This album is to celebrate the good things, heal and give hope to those who need it.

Outplay co-label boss Junktion has just delivered an outstanding four track EP 'Tributes'. Taking a slight side step from his usual classy deep house output this one is infused with a real disco know-how.

The Toltecs had roots in the Tolteca-Chichimeca people, who, during the 9th century CE, had migrated from the deserts of the north-west to Culhuacan in the Valley of Mexico. According to the Aztecs, the first Toltec leader was Ce Técpatl Mixcoatl (One Flint Cloud Serpent, i.e. the Milky Way), and his son Ce Acatl Topiltzin (One Reed Sacrificer, born in either 935 or 947 CE) would go on to gain fame as a great ruler and acquire the name of the great god Quetzalcoatl (‘Feathered Serpent’) amongst his titles.

Intriguingly, the Maya also had a version of a cultural hero known as the ‘Feathered Serpent’, translated as Kukulcan and contemporary with the Toltec Quetzalcóatl; this and architectural similarities, suggest that there was a close cultural link between the two civilizations.

The A-Side "Kiriakos 76" - is a wild instrumental backed by a fuzzy guitar and a manic Farfisa organ, and on the flip "Ne Sevenim Var Ne Soranim" is a Heavy, Hypnotic and melancholic ballad with a haunting melody.

Recorded in Jaffa, Israel, 1976.
