Reinterpreting a folk song named "Moniety", originating form the east side of Syria, Al Raqqah city. In their interpretation, Nakriz infuse the traditional lyrics & instrumentations with electronic influences from their new home Berlin. conveying their vision of a modern wedding rave. As many of you may know loving and caring for one another is something we stand by and is something much needed in these trying times. If this year has been hard on anyone it is those who unfortunately became a refugee. That is why we have decided to support those in need. Because there is very little we can individually do, our common goal is to raise money for various charities, so they can do the work we can not.

Because music has the ability to cheer up, heal and connect those who listen to it, it is music through which we hope to help. In the past few months Oriental Deep has started collaborations with 13 artists. Every single one of them has made a masterpiece to put together into an album named “Ishtar”. This album is to celebrate the good things, heal and give hope to those who need it.

Boshoco and Al-Akabani first met in 2020 and quickly formed a strong bond due a common view of art and music despite the big differences in musical backgrounds. Al-Akabani is deeply passionate about Arabic music and the versatility of the Oud as an instrument, far from today's self-fetishisation, and it was this authentic and natural approach that drew Boshoco to this collaboration.

This is a hybrid set jammed live in 2020 on a mountain in Lebanon. That day both artists were in sync, don't you think? 

As we enter the New Year, we hope it will be a time of beauty and authenticity.
