Venus is the 20th release of Droid9 South America and the first release of the year 2022, releasing this new version format, remixes of songs that were already released last year.

We present to Sebastian Busto, big artist from Argentina that had a lot of supports from artist like Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. He is in labels like Sudbeat, The Soundgarden and Replug among others. He is in charge of the “Rename It” remix by Francisco Castro released on our Apolo compilation last year. He offers us a pure progressive interpretation mixing new and fresh sounds. 

Be the Limit by Sinan Arsan is remixed by EMPHI, a young and talented artist. He brings us a spectacular version with his style and essence. The drop and breakdown turn it into a special track for the dancefloor.

Kabi (AR) debuted on Droid9 South America with a special remix for “The Other Side” by Aliens Like Us released in our compilation Afrodita last year. He did a very nice fusion between House groove and Progressive House melodies and harmony.

So, we've got our latest showcase primed and ready to go and face a dilemma. We have no less than eight (count 'em) new tracks to tell you about, a stunning sonic smorgasbord that summarises all Selador holds dear. But with our collective attention spans allegedly getting shorter, our poor befuddled minds crushed between vapid soundbites and oppressive 'long reads' – how do we do them all justice in a press release that hits that 'perfect length' sweet spot? And of course, while we yak on, your time could be better spent listening to the aforementioned sonic smorgasbord.

So, the challenge we have set ourselves is to get you as excited as we are about this titanic tuneage while limiting ourselves to a max ten words per track – and without using the words 'banger', 'anthem' or 'piledriver' (the boss noticed our over-use of that last one). So without any further ado…

Transensations Records opens the year of 2024 with the powerful collab of our label manager GORKIZ and MIND ECHOES with the single WITHOUT YOUR NOOSE , alongside top notch remixes from RUBEN KARAPETYAN , PAUL ARCANE and DIGITAL MESS.

Title theme is anchored by a warm and rippling groove, emerging melodies with a denser and more rhythmic ambience creates a hypnotic atmosphere bound to conquer the dance floor audience. The first remix comes from Ruben Karapetyan, returning to Transensations with a stunning remix, adding his sound signature with a perfect balance of fluid rhythms, groove and atmospheric textures.

Next remix comes from the Chilean artist Paul Arcane who debuts on the label bringing an interpretation of the track which crafts a gorgeous lead line and balmy atmospherics for sure fire dance floor elation. Closing the EP, Russian producer Digital Mess presents a remix with growling synths and dark, chugging grooves.

Premiere: Gorkiz, Mind Echoes - Without Your Noose (Paul Arcane Extended Remix)

A pair of remixes for Particles in December 2022 and February 2023 showcased Wolfframm's talents with sparkling interpretations of OHMZ and Juan Deminicis as he now returns to the label with his debut original EP. "Lucid" is an atmospheric gem that combines a heavy rolling beat with a tight percussive hi-hat backdrop. A stellar array of melodic effects, piano phrases and light motifs punctuate the rhythmic foundation before a deep penetrating bassline adds to the club-friendly character powering its way forward with low-end gravitas and deep intensity. Heading towards the breakdown, a stereo-panned LFO'd synth effect makes its play, before dropping into a full-force third movement where the complete cast of characters combine to devastating effect and melodic sensitivity. "Before You Go" is another bassline-driven gem that creates a smooth melodic backdrop from the bass sequence that is then mirrored through the other synth phrasing. With more than a touch of class, another beautiful piano sequence brings coherence to the EP narrative, as it finds its focus at the mid-point before the second half blossoms into life. A powerful driving beat, analogue bass groove and shaker-fuelled top line create a stunning piece of work in a pair of original tracks to define the Wolfframm sound.

Darling of the progressive house scene and long-time friend of Proton, the award-winning, Jamie Stevens, continues his impressive range of remixes on Proton Music for Petar Dundov, James Monro and Hrag Mikkel, with another genre-defining remix for Particles. With trademark aplomb and meticulous attention to detail, the scattered and panned LFO sequences from "Lucid" create dizzying aural patterns while new melodies generate a new direction full of atmosphere. As hypnotic as it is technically proficient, the Australian icon's skill is to create a unique dancefloor cadence that builds through its phases, ably complemented by whip-cracking kick, rolling low-end groove and fizzing hi-hat top line. The result is another Jamie Stevens masterclass.

Ireland born but Australian-based, amháin, is an artist with a rapidly growing reputation and production portfolio. Making his mark with remixes for Erdi Irmak and Michael A on Proton Music and April 2023's "Evaporate" EP on Particles, amháin now follows up with a progressive breaks-inspired reworking of "Lucid". The aptly titled "Broken Reality Remix" is a tour de force that cleverly plays on the powerful bassline found in Wolfframm's track by creating a groove that extends into a rumbling and sustained sequence over the 7-minute piece. Simultaneously, sounds from the original are liberally spread over the amháin remix as it retains the essence of the original but taken in a low-slung new direction courtesy of the inspired breakbeat backdrop and myriad additional production work.

Nors Kode, following his triumphant debut with a remix for VONDA7, returns with his original EP titled "Nemesis," featuring two distinct and captivating tracks. The lead track, "Nemesis," unfolds with an evolving melody constructed from emotive Hydrasynth chords, evoking a lifting and euphoric vibe. On the B-side, "3," written in 6/8 time signature, Nors Kode embraces a darker atmosphere while maintaining its infectious groove. Offering a genuine melodic techno journey, this EP is a standout addition not to be overlooked.
