Chapter

So it's taken me two years to pick this series up again; hopefully it was worth the wait :) 
The sharp-eyed observer will notice that I've been sat on this one for a month, and I must say I've been enjoying it immensely, packed as it is with some of my all-time favourite AFX moments. From the poignant genius of Wet Tip Hen Ax, If It Really Is Me and the sublime AB5 Tk1, to the uplifting bounciness of Klopjob and Cuckoo, and importantly Analogue Bubblebath 1 - which I'd single out as THE song that kicked off my RDJ fixation. As previously discussed, these are not all obscurities, and I'm entirely comfortable with this.

"This mix is basically a collection of nostalgia influenced pieces, weightless productions and scores that have stuck with me. I've always thought a lot of the music used in games is very underrated in terms of their depth and ideas and doing this mix gave me the opportunity to include some of my favourites. One in particular is a game called "Tyrian" - a space-shooter filled with mad colours and beams and has this weird tragic storyline. I based the premise of the mix behind this - its about being lost in space but still feeling content and somewhat close to home. Hope you enjoy it." Dark0

Russian psy chill producer ASTROPILOT is presenting you his brand new album titled Thirty Three.

AstroPilot is psychill/psybient alias of Russian music composer Dmitriy Redko.
The project was started with ethno-chill/psydub sound on debut album “Fruits Of The Imagination” and releases on various compilations.
But later after years AstroPilot music transformed to more spacy and progressive.
And now style of the project could divided on 2 main parts: space ambient and progressive chillout/midtempo.
Since 2010 till 2016 Dmitriy works with Altar Records for releasing his albums, EPs. He also released his music on many labels including Ultimae Records and Iboga Records.
AstroPilot plays at many international festivals, outdoors and indoors events in Russia, Ukraine, Canada, Australia, Hungary, Greece, France, Portugal, Israel, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Czech republic, Lithuania,Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and etc.
September 2016 is new milestone for Dmitriy – he opened his own label – AstroPilot Music.

Trapped as I am with hundreds of RDJ tracks and a mild disinclination to work, I felt compelled to bash out a third instalment in this increasingly-misnamed series. Home of my own mixes - predominantly jungle/hardcore with the odd bit of D&B, plus eclectic sample-digging, breaks and hip-hop, techno & electronica. 

Pre-2001, all mixes vinyl; Post-2016, all mixes digital (DJay 2); Post-2018, Ableton Live. Why? Why not?
I've got an old skool DJ's mentality, early influences ranging from Sublove, Ratty, Randall & Hype to Coldcut, DJ Juice, MK & Primo.  In the early 00s I turned my back on D&B, retired my turntables in favour of family/work commitments, and got into funk, soul, reggae and so on... a lot of this driven by curiosity around the sample roots of hardcore and jungle.  Forward another decade and an early mid-life crisis saw me messing around with virtual decks on my phone, and later acquiring a vinyl ripper, with one vision in mind: making mixes.
Although I'm partial to the odd DJay or vinyl mix when I get the chance, the progression into Ableton Live was a simple means to an end. Wait, there's more ... an absolute stack of classic golden era/old skool hip-hop/turntablism, jungle and d&b, hardcore, techno and house mixes retrieved from my dusty tape & CD archives.  This includes (by my reckoning) the most exhaustive collections of classic Full Cycle and Sublove Galaxy Radio shows, live Ruffneck Ting jungle tapes, loads of studio & compilation mixes, all manner of rave tapes, and so on.
