I've been playing D&B since the late 90s and used to have regular nights DJing and MCing at Blue Dog and Tokyo Bar along with places like Reggies, Purple Haze, Flipsides, and Angels.  For those who recognize any of those names bless your old soul haha.

I also had regular radio shows at CIXS and CJLO here in montreal through those years.  
I still really enjoy this music so about 15 years ago I started a studio mix series, Beat Induction, as a way to listen to my favorite recent tunes.

My focus is from 160-175bpm journeys through the varied shapes and flavours of contemporary and classic drum and bass for the headphone listener as well as the dancefloor.

Now with a new digital mixing set-up I've restarted a weekly radio show streaming on twitch and am looking for opportunities to play out around town.

Home of my own mixes - predominantly jungle/hardcore with the odd bit of D&B, plus eclectic sample-digging, breaks and hip-hop, techno & electronica. 

Pre-2001, all mixes vinyl; Post-2016, all mixes digital (DJay 2); Post-2018, Ableton Live. Why? Why not?
I've got an old skool DJ's mentality, early influences ranging from Sublove, Ratty, Randall & Hype to Coldcut, DJ Juice, MK & Primo.  In the early 00s I turned my back on D&B, retired my turntables in favour of family/work commitments, and got into funk, soul, reggae and so on... a lot of this driven by curiosity around the sample roots of hardcore and jungle.  Forward another decade and an early mid-life crisis saw me messing around with virtual decks on my phone, and later acquiring a vinyl ripper, with one vision in mind: making mixes.
Although I'm partial to the odd DJay or vinyl mix when I get the chance, the progression into Ableton Live was a simple means to an end.  My ideas stretch further than the limitations of my physical collection and real-time mixing, and by sequencing I can pick, choose, chip away and structure mixes at my leisure. Which I do... a lot :)

Wait, there's more ... an absolute stack of classic golden era/old skool hip-hop/turntablism, jungle and d&b, hardcore, techno and house mixes retrieved from my dusty tape & CD archives.  This includes (by my reckoning) the most exhaustive collections of classic Full Cycle and Sublove Galaxy Radio shows, live Ruffneck Ting jungle tapes, loads of studio & compilation mixes, all manner of rave tapes, and so on.

oldskool dj, see me at the white hart for pubstep or at the bang Bar for Bang Bass and getmash up   outhern based dj, playing cross the country with roots in the oldskool, He's a Multicore dj who loves the sounds of House, it's been reported you'll be dancing to the sounds of the MF-TKR.TKR also know as Tangnet T when working for the Pulloutyacut crew has had music in his blood since before he was born. From when his Dad used to Djay at the Lakeside or when his Mother played music to him in the womb. Getting his first turntable when he was 10 he started collecting vinyl, his collection has taken him to across The South and beyond, Including London, Reading, Newbury, York, Wales and the Czech Republic, and a lot of venues in Basingstoke and Festivals, /sound systems and with great djays and well know artists. He plays a lot of styles from reggae Fuck & soul, hip hop Breaks to acid house and techno to DnB Jungle  and everything in between. But his love of Old Skool and Classic is what he loves best.

Kola Nut Bio

Greg a.k.a. Kola Nut began playing computer games at a young age, mastering ‘Bubble Bobble’ and completing the Bitmap Brothers classic ‘Gods’, where the player is cast as Hercules in his quest to achieve immortality. He showed potential and his talent was obvious.

He was given a Megadrive by Santa Claus on the 25th December 1994. Playing games like 'Theme Park', 'Street Fighter 2', ‘Altered Beast’, ‘Cyborg Justice’, ‘Cool Spot’ and 'Fifa 95' he soon built his finger strength and hand eye co-ordination skills. Later in life 'Tekken 3' on the PS1 enhanced his ability even further learning all Yoshimitsu's moves and ten hit combos.

This dexterity and skill combined with his love for jungle music lead him neatly into the world of bedroom DJing in 2001.

He has since collaborated with scene honchos such as Law, Wheeler, Tim Reaper and more.

Along with having releases on Repertoire, R-Whites, Future Retro, Meditator, Context Audio, 7th Storey Projects, Silent Force and Sonic Force Recordings his other crowning achievements have been singing Christmas reggae at the Geneva Cyborg Convention, drawing a picture of a shopping centre and occassionally becoming MC Det.

Junglist by birth. Ruffneck by choice. I've been a part of the local Jungle/Breaks scene since the late 90s and got to experience the 00's as a full effect Jungle Raver. I embrace the direction the scene and sound are going. The blending of genres and incorporation of classic Rave elements is designed to consume anyone inclined towards Techno music. Once you've had the taste, only full emersion in the lifestyle will suffice. Of course, I love almost all genres of music from hip hop to grunge(the sounds of my youth) to Outlaw country and classic rock. I often tell people to think of the hardest and heaviest subgenre, and that's probably my jam. 

I've always been an artist. Visual arts and writing are the skills I've worked on for over 30 years now. But I've begun to embrace my passion for music. I've been focusing on creating Dj mixes, and I believe I'm forming my own style of selection and direction culminating in my own original style. I plan on dropping my own productions soon, and if I can contribute to the scene and get to bless the Massive with a sound they love, I couldn't ask for anything more. No matter what, I'm going to be here making noise. I'm always down to work with other Junglists. The goal is to create and perform so we all can share in the experience and party together. There's never been a better time than the one we're in right now. 

All I know from my years of living on the crazy planet is live every day like there's no tomorrow. Tell your friends and family that you love them and appreciate having them in your life, at any time it might change. And do everything you can to work and play at at least 160 Beats Per Minute. Your health is important. I find it's a great way to work cardio, and it keeps me on the positive side of things. Massive Elevations to All Junglists and lovers of Breakbeats. Big Up Ya self!
