Kyoto-born, Berlin-based DJ, producer and artist, Alex Kassian has become a firm favourite of ours over here at Phonica over the past couple of years. His sophisticated, lush and organic sounding productions have been picked up by labels such as Paramida’s Love On The Rocks and Alex Bradley’s Utopia Records in recent years. His most recent release, Leave Your Life, was released in 2021 via Pinchy & Friends, and we can safely say it was one of our most-played, and bestselling, records of the year.

Together with Hiroaki OBA, Alex is also one-half of Opal Sunn, who have been operating their own imprint Planet Sundae since 2017, through which they self-released a number of EPs, catching the attention of and support from dance music luminaries such as Andrew Weatherall and DJ Sprinkles.

DELASFLORES delivers an hour of celestial grooves for number 26 in the Junction 2 mix series.

Currently residing in London, Spanish-born Sara’s music interest peaked at a young age. A love for multiple genres led to her start as a DJ where she’s quickly found a home with a signature sound that traverses the spectrum of stripped back house, techno and electro. Now a regular on the London scene with standout sets on lineups with the likes of Z@p, Ryan Elliott and Youandewan, we’re excited to see what’s in store for 2022.

"It feels like I started all over from scratch," Kerri Chandler told us in a recent interview. He was of course referring to his relationship with Circo Loco, the Italian party brand based out of DC-10 in Ibiza. After a period of persuasion Chandler agreed to play for the crew at their 2010 opening/closing party and has since become an integral part of the family, making multiple appearances throughout the 2011 season and generally stepping up his worldwide DJ presence. It was evident in our talking with Chandler that the partnership had rejuvenated him in many ways, although that's not to say he was somehow struggling before. Chandler is known as one of New Jersey/New York's most celebrated and important house music practitioners, with a recording career stretching back to 1991 and a classics-lined discography to prove it. As part of our on-going VS series, Chandler will link up with Chez Damier—himself a revered house music institution—for a back-to-back session this coming Saturday night at BeCool in Barcelona for our annual off-Sonar soiree. 

Rolling, timeless house music is the order of the day on RA.315, a warm-up to this Saturday's festivities and a showcase of where Chandler is at in 2012."

Berlin based DJ/Producer brings his signature in a funky house with throwback sounds to the height of NYC disco in his productions. Some labels like Must Be On Wax, Sundries and recently the classic Nite Grooves/King Street Sounds released his music. 

Two decades behind the turntables makes him a versatile DJ who can play from jazz to funkified sounds and from reggae/dub to all time dancefloor bangers in his sets.

Involved also in projects like The Tonal Island and Must Be On Wax where they work to promote and bring new artists into the scene, and co-productions like Collins & Casau or Cangas Soulmates.

As part of our ongoing Legends series we asked Black Loops to make us a Worship mix. The brief was to make us a mix based around the music of either an artist, a moment in time or a musical sub genre which has inspired him as an artist.
Black Loops picked a strand of music that we are heavily into at LV HQ, 90's Italian House. From Dream House to proto Deep House he has pulled together a wonderful selection of tracks
Black Loops has a brand new EP coming out via Freerange 'The Something Special EP and it's an EP packed full of wonderful melodic deep house through which the 90's Italian influence shines bright. You can also check it via this feature.
