The continuation of our magical journey took us to the heart of the French Alps - the city of Grenoble stretching along the banks of the Isère river. In this beautiful place lives and creates a musical wizard Denis Morin aka Vague Imaginaires. Last year, he captivated us with his masterpiece L'Île D'or on Not Not Fun Records (@not-not-fun-1), and then crushed us with his heavyweight ambient release L'Île Sous l'Eau on the 12th Isle (@12th-isle). Taking over tapes #132 is Berlin-based radio host, DJ and producer, MLE. Navigating sonically between a multitude of club ready sounds, MLE can be described as a deep digging selector known to take dancers on a journey between between genres on the dance floor.

Cutting her teeth in the music industry by working at London institution Sounds of the Universe, she is currently the Rhythm Section International label manager and assistant label manager of Banoffee Pies Records.

Musical interests spurred by learning piano, clarinet and drums from a young age, her musical understanding informs an eclectic taste from Turkish disco folk to New Yorkian left field and clanging electro.

We have our 19th PEPMIX up and ready to be listened to.

It's been long in the pipeline, but MLE has dropped us her PEPmix - and it's a ferocious torrent of distant rave-seeped sounds.

With her penchant for the darker taste in music, Rhythm Section's party starter has crafted 55 minutes of EBM and Techno, joining the dots with ugly, driving acid-lines and a unrelenting, dark atmosphere.

Since her appearance with us in November she has gone from strength to strength; starting a residency with Balamii Radio on every fourth Tuesday, & lining up a number of gigs - namely in Bristol with The ITT this Thursday. Other future parties include her playing at Corsica Studios and at Spectral's Leeds adventure to Wharf Chambers.

We've loved seeing Em's progression as an artist, as she continues to bring thunder to the London skyline, so stick this on and tie the laces to your running boots cus its full of chuffin' whizz.

We're pleased to announce a new addition to the DJ Directory family. Emily Hill AKA https://soundcloud.com/can_u_feel_ml3 is part of the team behind https://soundcloud.com/bradleyzero and https://soundcloud.com/internationalblack, keeping things ticking over at the labels and helping to curate their regular club nights. As a DJ and radio host she holds down residencies on South London’s Balamii and Noods in Bristol, and can also be found working behind the counter at Soho vinyl institution, Sounds of the Universe.

With this mix we get a small insight into her love of weird party bangers and her natural ability to get a party started. With talent and dedication in abundance, her growth as an artist and selector show no signs of stopping anytime soon. Catch her alongside other DJ Directory crew at this year's festival as part of the last dance in Fort Punta Christo.

Through her DJ sets and radio shows, formerly on Balamii and now on Worldwide FM and Noods, she has been navigating the darker experimental corners of dance music, from coldwave and electro to deconstructed club music and experimental pop edits. 

By day you can find her behind the counter at one of Soho's leading record shops, Sounds Of The Universe, and as a longtime member of the Rhythm Section team she helps to steer their sister label International Black.

We invited her on board for a mix that sees her connects the dots between broken club rhythms, acid, electro and bass...
