You see, I'm not your run-of-the-mill beat jockey who just stumbled upon a passion for music because it was the cool thing to do. I've been in the trenches, diving headfirst into the intoxicating world of dance music. 

But let me tell you, it wasn't about just producing tracks, bootlegs, or the occasional DJ gig. Nah, that's child's play. My quest was to forge something far more meaningful: musical experiences that leave a mark, that make your soul hum along, that change the way you see the world, even if just for a moment.

Now, I'm not claiming to be the all-knowing sage atop the mountain. As Laozi once said, "The wise man is one who knows what he does not know." And I'm wise enough to know that it's not about inflating egos or claiming the spotlight. It's about creating a connection, a spark that ignites the heart and soul.

Music, to me, is like a universal language, a bridge that transcends cultural, linguistic, and social divides. It's not something to be taken lightly. It's a force to be reckoned with, one that deserves our utmost respect and reverence. And when wielded with care, it can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

So, here's the thing: my dance music journey isn't about me. It's about exploration, growth, and the thrill of discovery. It's about creating a sound that doesn't just hit the right notes, but also stirs the right emotions. It's about embracing humility, simplicity, and a deep-seated respect for the power of music. And ultimately, it's about bringing us a little closer, one beat at a time.

Throughout his long journey in pursuit of perfection at the controls, Matias YaaN has been able to captivate thousands of people with his sound. Years of absolute dedication have allowed him to develop involving melodies with massive basslines Offering his audience a warm, yet euphoric ambiance. All those initial years in the darkness gave Matias the tools to find his place in the Chilean techno scene.
Matías Vargas, his real name, discovers his taste for electronic music almost a decade ago (2011). His initial experiences involved long practice sessions behind the plates, combined with exhaustive lessons on music production. This immersion into the music world made him drop his university studies of engineer to focus 100% on being a professional of techno music.
3 years later (2014), Matías finally considered he was ready to contribute to the Chilean techno scene with his music. The initial reception from ravers and event organizers was highly positive. This allowed him in 2015 to become a resident in the parties Blackness Chile and The Magic Sound; both renowned in Chile’s capital, Santiago. These events and others he took part in, pushed Matías YaaN to be the main guest on many occasions in one of the largest techno events in Santiago, called It’s My Birthday. 
Thanks to everyone who trusted in the quality of Matias’ shows, in 2017 he was able to consolidate his local career as a DJ. At the same time, he began to get involved for the first time in international music production. Matías released his first EP "Polarity" with the German record label Reload Records. "Polarity" was a hit, appearing on Beatport's "Hype Techno" chart and reaching its Top 100 on techno Beatport's general chart.
At the end of 2018, Matías has been a revelation among the Chilean techno movement, playing in the most important clubs in Chile, and with three other releases that reached the Beatport Top 100 for the Reload Records and Reload Black labels.
The global COVID-19 crisis has been a moment of improvement for Matías, preparing him to come back even stronger and with a more developed sound. In 2020, he was able to launch new productions with the major labels IAMT, Gain Records and Eclipse Recordings. These new productions combined with its hybrid set have confirmed his potential as a promise for Chilean techno music. With all this in mind in the middle of 2021, Matías YaaN decided to move to Budapest, Hungary, seeking to broaden his horizons and continue learning about what he loves most: Techno.
