In 1995, Mathias Hatting made his first appearance on Oliver Huntemann's Confused Recordings under the Motion Unit moniker (teamed up with André Winter). Two decades on, his powers show no sign of abating as he returns to Huntemann's Senso Sounds label for three intense techno cuts that are fitting testimony to 20 years of expertise in sound design and soundtrack composing.
The aptly titled "Venom" kicks things off, a hypnotic, reverberating, machine music bomb that gradually expands into the space around you until it envelops every synapse and nerve.
Its counterpart "Antidote" is deep and rubbery, bedecked with glitchy crackles and a ping-ponging riff. Subtly wrought changes make it an ever-evolving, utterly immersive journey.
Last but not least, "Kammerflimmern" explores very different territory, removing the kick drum to create a postapocalyptic landscape of robot drones and percussive fluttering. Building to a pay-off that never comes, nebulous bass clouds briefly blossom then recede - a delicious exercise in restraint that will leave you wanting more.

Blitz & Donner EP – Oliver Huntemann

Senso, the brand-new imprint from Hamburg’s Oliver Huntemann, delivers its debut release from the boss himself. And, what a way to introduce his latest endeavor - two tracks of exceptionally focused, highly charged and deeply sophisticated techno from the heart.

Huntemann has always shied away from the limelight, preferring to let his prolific body of work and prodigious skills behind the decks do the talking. With this release, he again manages to leave an indelible mark on the techno heritage of northern Europe. Donner is a epic 9-plus minute workout of muscular beats, off kilter percussion and tense, minimal melodies – a master class in the art of building tension and its eventual release. Similarly, Blitz weaves a narrative out of a terse, tightly wound groove and elements that gradually build and build, stoking the fire. Metallic, buzzing synths fire and recede, ultimately exposing the jagged machine funk core of another exceptional Huntemann transmission.

dubspeeka  - Fargo EP 

Bristol has long been known for its deep love of everything dubwise, from reggae through to the flourishing bass scene the city is now synonymous with. Hailing from this melting pot, dubspeeka continues the tradition with 3 heavy cuts that effortlessly blend speaker punishing subs with the driving, crisp techno that Oliver Huntemann’s new Senso label is becoming known for. 
First up is Move - the title an unavoidable directive seemingly emitted from the propulsive groove. The track oozes menace and tension -its heads-down attitude will go over big on harder-edged dance floors. Likewise, title track Fargo is relentless in its mission - the tough bottom end and tight groove is offset by some surprisingly subtle pads - but the result remains a hypnotic bruiser of a cut. 
Spiral Tribe, named after the legendary free party warriors of the 90s, completes the release. Every bit as at home in a dark warehouse as a outdoor rave, dubspeeka seems to be flying the flag for true tough-as-nails party music – and long may it continue.

André Winter and Hatzler's unique studio alchemy has revealed itself under many guises over many years. Their latest incarnation sees them join forces yet again for an impressive selection of maximal techno future classics, on the beloved Senso Sounds imprint of their longtime friend Oliver Huntemann.

There is nothing illusory about the duo's Mirage EP; the three tracks are rock solid, bristling with energy, and designed for maximum impact. "Mirage" is pure forward movement and acceleration, straight out of the gate. The duo create layer after layer of dark tech elements and percussive accents, building a sense of anticipation that drive towards a peak of sensory saturation.

"Kwantum" continues the metallic tones and spiky attitude, with a touch of vintage minimal flair that is perfect for late-night sessions. Starting with a sparse, deep swing and distinctive bass riff, neon retro pads begin to fill the gaps and tiny snips of machine music bring this streamlined stomper to life. "Glowsticks" possesses with the colour and vibrancy that the name suggests, to create a big, bright peaktime belter that maintains its relentless pace from the very first bar.

This clap is creeping directly into your legs. No choice - we got you. Second by second the voice, the baseline, the synth - everything is getting darker and bigger. With "Ada" our dutch genius Arjuna Schiks is back. Proved on dancefloors all over the world, we can say, this track won’t get out of your mind and your body. With Jonas Saalbach we have a great remixer on board, who knows how to handle dark sounds and bring them to a new and open dimension. The main melody from „Ada“ comes back wrapped in break beats.

"Muda Esprit" is filled with friendly rhythms and more power for a summer night. Beatamines developed a fresh and easy remix of this typical Schiks-production. The claps are warm and light footed, the melody is catchy and bright. The remix is more metalic and the groove gets wilder. You’ll find yourself dancing on a beach into an endless night.

Come back into the club. "Navitas" picks you up and tells you a story under soft lights, with your feet back on a cold floor of stones and your mind far away. It is a melodious trip with harder breaks and less heat. We finish with "Hyphen" as bonus - only available for those who know where to find good stuff!

Direct yet sophisticated, brutal yet refined, physical yet cerebral: opposites collide to perfection on this latest transmission from one of Hamburg's finest exports and a bona fide techno legend - Oliver Huntemann. Here, he returns to his very own Senso imprint with two massive tracks aimed firmly at the floor.
The airy feel of 'Schwarzlicht' with its simple kick-less beat and intricate, textured woodblocks gives way to an imposing, thorax-rattling low end that's felt as much as heard. Precision-engineered for a big system, the pitch-bent bass twists around itself like a contortionist in chains, while above, brittle piercing stabs pulse and ping.
On the flipside, the slamming kick and buzzing repetitions of 'Filmriss' cast a dark, edgy vibe. A pitched-up pulse - as if a string is being slowly tightened to breaking point - makes way for a monstrous sub bass. Deeply accomplished, these tracks are ample testimony to Huntemann's two-decade stint at techno's cutting edge.
