George Thompson aka Black Merlin is the man of the moment here at LYO. After his remix for Tapan on Malka Tuti premiered last week, he's now highlighted with a full ep four tracker called "Proto World" released on Berceuse Heroique. Deep & dark atmospheres all throughout . Here is our favorite, the b2 "Hope" which rather sounds like an hope for planet earth to end humanity. Already OUT !

Void I was recorded across the United States, written by Void Ensemble and arranged by Meg Mulhearn and David Lynch. Mixed by Patrick Kukucka and mastered by Matthew Azevedo.

Gathering was written by Meg Mulhearn in collaboration with choreographer and dancer Sara Baird for the dance piece "Godai.” This track was recorded live alongside Sara (you can hear her feet on the floor if you listen closely) by Patrick Kukucka at French Broad Studios, Alexander, NC.

This project was supported by the N.C. Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources, with funding from The National Endowment for The Arts.

[SQ013] Meg Mulhearn + Void Ensemble - "Void I" (excerpt)

What is the sound of the end? How does one acoustically convey that something is over? Computers have had a shutdown sound; movies play a melody while rolling credits and even the end of human life has a sound attached to it, courtesy of Chopin. Heatherbrae, an excellent track from Thomas Gray & Liam Ebbs feels like it's a sountrack to an end of some sort. Its deliberate and sparse pacing of someone who's no longer rushing, its "I-am-at-peace" synth chords as well as casual and relaxed drumming all seem to say: "It has been a lovely experience; I laughed and i cried, I've learned and I've grown but now it's over”.
