Happy to have Phred Noir on the Play Pal Series with a very personal two hour mix he's recorded for the occasion.

He's been behind one of the finest labels we know, La Dame Noir Records, for the last 10 years, being co-founder of it alongside Relatif Yann, and also of La Dame Noir Bar & Club.

They've counted with many great artists through out these years, both on the label and at the club, where he's had the opportunity of sharing decks with Maceo Plex, Pachanga Boys, Chloé, Andrew Weatherall, Ivan Smagghe or Michael Mayer just to name a few.

He's been playing for more than two decades and as he defines it himself, from Balearic Disco to Slow Techno via Dark Disco, from the seaside to the latest dance floor, between 100 & 120 bpm, being 110 where he enjoys the most.

As a producer, he's teamed up with Amevicious under the alias 'La Dame Noir' releasing music on Meant, Factor City or Blindetonation and also with Remain from Meant Rec. under the aka 'Slow Porn' with releases on My Favourite Robot and La Dame Noir.

Lyon-based label Mélopée Records started its activities in 2019. Devoted to the sonority of drum machines and synthesizers, the curation process of the French imprint fails to disappoint those in search of vintage – but modern – music gems. If most of the releases come from the minds of young and promising artists, now the label opens its doors to none other than the acclaimed and legendary duo Italoconnection (SXDNS106). The single brings a special edit of their famous hit "Neon Disco" and a remix made with love by skilled Mexican artist TKUZ, who delivered a less-Italo-more-Electro but insightful interpretation.

Originally published in 2016 featuring different mixes and two remixes by Flemming Dalum and Also Playable Mono, "Neon Disco" is a perfect example of the new Italo wave. All the elements that make us insanely love Italo Disco are there: The arpeggiated bassline, the upbeat synth layers, and the catchy vocals/vocoder combo. Cool lyrics, by the way, probably inspired in David Bowie & Mick Jagger's "Dancing In The Streets". This new "original" is a beast: Fatter and beefier, "Linn Kick Mix" was in the loop while this review was under construction. If only we could dance to it on a packed dancefloor… Let’s hope this may be allowed again very soon!

The mind boggling leftfield disco antics of the Sequencers!


Hailing from Guadalajara, Mexico, Daniel and Gilberto Cornejo are two brothers which began experimenting music at a very young age, always true believers of the underground sound they started to gather a growing record collection with the best of now and then, but while they had different musical tastes and influences, converged in some basic principles: Music is all about feeling, dancing to it and having fun.

Without that much exposure, they nowadays have some studio work editing tracks as well as getting creative with own productions using their vintage equipment, cheap midi controllers and other toys to play around.

So they now present this newly created project focused to a blend of house and disco in all its range, from old school funk to space and italo but not quite sticking to one particular genre, always eager to discover some fresh sounds with a single purpose after all, make you move.
