Rounding out the EP are productions from A Friend of Marcus, Chris Gavin & Gabriel I, and TALAL, resulting in an immaculately produced portfolio that features breaks, deep house, MH&T and indie dance.

The series provides an exciting opportunity for Renaissance to shine a light on some of the best production talent in the world today, be it from established artists to up and coming or newcomers to the scene; "our rule is simple - if we feel it’s worthy, it’s in.” - Renaissance

Featuring on Vol.2 in A-Z ordering; A Friend Of Marcus of Australia is first up with Cepish. Next, Greek artists Alexandros Djkevingr & Greg Ignatovich combine for their track Capricorns & Leos, followed by a collaboration from French artist Chris Gavin & Gabriel I of Mexico in the form of Calypso. Finally, London-based artist TALAL rounds off the VA with Moda.

Renaissance label head Marcus James goes on to explain the idea behind the series, saying that "Merin, which is Yoruba for 4, is a series that will always feature a quartet of producers, spread across a number of different genres. It’s our way of extending release opportunities to artists - there simply aren't enough weeks in the year otherwise!”

To close the end of the year, we invited our friend and rising star Coeus for the NWD Special! 

Serbian based Coeus is rapidly growing and is becoming one of the finest electronic music DJ/producers of the Balkans. His sound contains deep dark cavernous grooves with strong percussive rhythms and stirring melodies inspired by the environment and culture he grew up in. As part of the Afterlife family, he was recently invited to make his debut on the Afterlife line-up in a sold-out Printworks in London.

With his talent and understanding of electronic music, he receives massive support from artists like Tale of Us, Solomun, Adriatique, Mind Against and many more.. With his incredible productions, he achieved releases on various international labels like Afterlife, Atlant, Oddity, Vivrant and Multinotes.

Black Rose sixty-seven release comes from the Italian artist Pisetzky. “Nebula Fever Dream” is a track with a persistent and continuous groove, featuring an arpeggiated bass that brings fluidity and speed. The intense female vocals convey deep emotions, while warm, enveloping synths alternate with brighter sounds, creating a contrast that adds freshness and dynamics to the composition. “Dreamstate" is characterized by an angelic and ethereal vocal, wrapped in deep reverbs that create a sense of infinite space. A bouncing bass establishes a dynamic and immersive groove, while the arpeggiated synths provide a vibrant and shimmering soundscape, delicately accompanying the entire track. The overall eﬀect conveys a feeling of lightness and introspection, like a hypnotic and suspended sonic journey. “Starlight Anthem” begins with a deep, dark bass, creating an intense and mysterious atmosphere.
