Stylistically we wander between several end members; from in-depth, quiet, almost drumless ambient pieces over dubby-warm compositions with forceful beats all the way to synthesizer-loaded tracks and their lovely melodies. The center of all tracks form atmospheric sounds derived from long and low-frequency reverbs and above foremost slow tempo. It is the sinusoidal dynamic that has created the most delightful moments for the listener. We are really deeply touched by this album and are looking forward to the release this synthesis of art.

A further release smashes again like a distorted bass drum. The "Perpetual" EP produced by Arpow comes with two originals. Arpow incorporates small textures into each track, which are not always noticeable at first hearing, but give the tracks a high degree of liveliness. Especially in "Perpetual" this vibrancy is clearly evident. The track changes several times over its entire length and becomes deeper and intenser. 

"Neuron Circuit" is the more melodic version of a techno track that always functions at any time. From the beginning it goes strongly forward, drives, ties up and moves the legs. The hi-hats in combination with the very tight bassline as well as the synth elements give the final touch to the track. Dancefloor weapons!

Amirali Shakoori accelerates us on a profound electronic journey and leaves everyday life behind. His next production features a brilliant new EP called “Ivory” and enters the Wout Records catalogue as number 81. The title track recalls the beginnings of electronic music with its soft synthesizer sounds and long pads; all in a dark curtain. The compositional structure ranks around a powerful vocoder loop, driven by a straight kick and no frills drums. Although there is a wide range of sounds, each element has been given its own place. Track two entitled “Hiraeth” follows on seamlessly. A massive, somber atmosphere rises up here as well created by minor keys and unison synths. This track is enriched with seductive energy, delivering a complex-forward stomping groove that fits in any situation. The track was written by Oliver Wickham, Crimsen and Feyln during the last winter in Toronto and is about how long the winters can feel in Canada. Summer is a very magical time here because we can't have outdoor festivals and events year-round, and when it finally comes along, we always try to make the most of it. But during those long winter months, the weather in Toronto can be incredibly overcast and cold. 

You're hearing lyrics about cold grey skies over the music you'd expect to hear outside in the heat of the summer. I hope the juxtaposition will encourage listeners to live in the moment and appreciate what they have, or at least give them some hope if they're feeling down.

One thing is certain in uncertain times, there comes a phase of maximizing creative ouputs. The same is true for the next Wout Record release produced by Øntold and Yonder of Tomorrows. The "Apex" EP wave-like merges into two parts. With wide bass synths and an expressive kick "Climax" truly deserves its name. Over seven minutes long-winded pads develop into a beautiful sound meshwork; here and there chiptune sounds and noise effects pop up. Sophisticated and harmonious. Although somewhat darker in character, "In My Time Of Reach" fits into this overall style. Basic elements of the track are various shuffled arpeggios; sometimes with short, crisp attack times of the synth, sometimes with long, expressive soundscapes. The EP is a charismatic monster reflecting finest modern electronic music. Welcome to our label.

Cid Inc’s Replug Records welcomes Interaxxis back to the label for a new two-track EP. Since making their label debut in 2016, Emiliano Folgar and Martin Kazez aka Interaxxis have found a comfortable home on the Finnish imprint. The Argentinean duo have since gone on to provide an EP and single for the label, while also being primary contributors to Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren’s Hope Recordings and Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records. Now following a collaborative remix with Lost & Found alum Sahar Z and their latest Sudbeat offering ‘Bleakness’, Interaxxis returns to Replug with the much anticipated ‘Bowry’. 

Beginning with the title selection Interaxxis explores the darker realms of their highly regarded repertoire. Atop a tough, rolling foundation comes arpeggiated rhythms, buzzing stabs and striking percussion, resulting in a unique contrast of character and groove. Effervescent effects and stream-like sweeps continue to build the narrative, ultimately setting the course for an enthralling lead melody. Tense yet cosmic, its dramatic nature elevates across the main break, flowing through expressive modulation, before an exhilarating crescendo spearheads a charged finale. 

The EP’s second and final selection finds Interaxxis collaborating with fellow countryman Guille Cornejo aka Antrim. Also a Replug alum, the Cordoba resident made his label debut in 2019 with the well received ‘Trip To Red’. As a long-time favourite of progressive music tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, Guille also boasts an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on Sudbeat Music, Hope Recordings and his own Or Two Strangers imprint. Now coming together for their first ever joint production, Interaxxis and Antrim round the release out with ‘Isolation’. Its dark beginnings prove intriguing, as punchy beats, perfectly contoured bass and striking percussion unite for a robust rhythmic core. Devilish effects further it’s fiery flair, before hopeful overlays and nostalgic chord changes shift the mood into emotive territory. Building through an array of impressive artefacts, the centrepiece captivates with a rare unpredictably, before eventually accelerating to a tasteful crescendo and effects laden drop. It rounds out an impressive return to Replug for Interaxxis and Antrim, who continue to be two of the world’s foremost progressive music talents.

With more than 15 years in the electronic music scene, and a prolific discography in labels such as Sincopat, Selador, Parquet, and Einmusik he delivers a masterfully put together mix flowing through various soundscapes.

Flowing through dark and melodic sounds and bases with a roughened grit to them warmed by soft melodies, He presents a mix full of sound with class and elegance.
