How lyrics are interpreted by the individual is one of the amazing things about how music has the ability to touch anyone in many different ways. This song for me was very cathartic during my stay at Serenity Lodge and expresses, to me, the fear a mother has while her son burns his life away, to where he may die before her, stuck in the throes of addiction. Also strong for me is the call to stand up, to do it now, before it’s too late and, the lasting pain of putting off that call or visit to a loved one only to find out that they passed the night they were reaching out to you and needed that call.

Southern Days

This is a song I wrote the day after my mother passed away May 10th 2023. A few days after the initial recording I added some more tracks of keyboards and sound effect. I am playing everything except drums, which is funny since I am a drummer. The drums track is pieced together from loops within Studio One v6 software.

Searching For Something

I wrote the music for this in March 2024 but I just had hip replacement surgery 12 days ago so all of a sudden the lyrics came to me and I quickly finished the demo.
update 8/10/2025- I redid drums and some guitars on this today.
