I love listening to the classic Game Cube Animal Crossing music rip and, as I'm working in a animal-related game, I thought it would be fun to write some loops trying to imitate its quirky, minimal and fun original music, just to develop a bunch of ideas.

Used instruments are not as lo-fi as they should, but it's a quick exercise :)

What The Chimera Showed Me

Original composition! I used a MIDI keyboard to play a text-to-speech with random syllables, then processed it through neural synthesis, layering over the separately-processed General MIDI backing track.

Yesterday I figured out how to make Riffusion sing on purpose and consistently, by using a free text-to-speech VST plugin, AlterEgo, as the guiding outline for the model to do its work. The same "realism enhancing" effect Riffusion has on chiptunes can be used on regular MIDI files or even text-to-speech voice. 

That is, we can now make vocaloid-type synthetic singers sound more "alive" in artistically interesting ways.

¡Ha vuelto la serie de dubplates de descarga gratuita!

Y esta vez lo ha hecho con un clásico del reggae digital de los años 80.

Al contrario que la última vez, en la que hice tres cortes de un tema, pero todos del mismo estilo, esta vez me he decidido por 3 cortes del mismo tema, pero cada no de un estilo diferente:

1) Una versión que respeta la esencia original del riddim.
2) Una lectura en clave dub stepper, cargada de bajos pesados y atmósferas expansivas.
3) Una reinterpretación explosiva en drum and bass, pensada para las pistas más intensas.

Este es un tema al que llevo muchísimo tiempo dándole amor (el archivo lo creé, para ser exactos, el 8 de septiembre de 2022), de modo que espero que todo ese cariño y esfuerzo se note cuando lo escuchéis en vuestras casas o en el dancehall.
