Melodik Session 70 - Elber Florentino

After a solid education in multiple classical instruments and drums Matthias Schuell took an 
unlikely choice to enter the electronic scene as a producer, DJ and live act. Since January 2019 he concentrates on his more and more growing solo career. Always keeping an energetic vibe in his productions he tries out different tempos and styles and creates music with a broad portfolio of sounds and instruments. 

In his powerful live sets he uses his talent to support his music with live drums and piano elements. 

His first EP „Scarabaeus“ in June 2018 on Niconé's imprint Dantze was played by Joris Voorn, 
Artbat, Animal Picnic, Moonwalk and many more and quickly took the pole position to become the number one song of the Dantze label on Beatport. His EP „Hoodoo“ on Einmusika in May 2019 chartet in 
the Beatport Top 10 Releases in the genres „Techno“ and „Melodic House & Techno“ for several weeks. Since 2018 he holds a residency and works as the labelmanager at the Ritter Butzke Club Berlin.

When Simon Schilke and Senn Walter met for the first time in
2015, they immediately recognized that they not only share the
same music taste, but also have the same understanding of
music. This common feeling for music encouraged them to play
a few Dj-gigs with which they aimed to project their feelings
connected to their music to the crowd. The balanced musical
choice of 2 heads and harmonic usage of 4 hands led to
stunning nights and overwhelmed audiences, thus SimSen
Music was born.
-”MUSICMORPHOSIS”-
Since both artists are rooted in psychedelic music, their sets
contain driving beats made up of strong base lines mixed with
melodic parts and well-known classics in order to bring the
listener into some kind of meditative state. With this vibe
SimSen not only aims to deliver feelings, but also intends to
provide answers to the more profound questions in life.

Set Of The Day Podcast - 606 - SimSen

Frank BreithauptHis DJing career with the techno style has started 27 years ago. And despite this long period of time, his music sets successfully keep the party crowd dancing on the floor up to the present.
The guys have met each other in their home town Stralsund and it now seems as if this meeting has been arranged before. The first glance at each other’s equipment was enough to understand that they both make remixes on the stage in a variety of ways.
Frank uses four decks along with Native Instrument Maschine in the background, which enables to differentiate the music samples and transform every set into an unforgettable experience. Leon’s style is similar, since he also uses Traktor DJ Programm to control the Remix Decks together with the DJ software „Ableton Live” in the background, controlled via controller. This kind of equipment makes every single set sound exclusive and unique.
So, it is quite obvious that the prerequisites were strong enough for the guys to make a decision to play together and after the first year it became clear that it makes sense to start the common music production. Less than half a year later, the first duo ideas have been developed and a small studio has been set up. Having once listened to their tracks, you quickly realize that they both have managed to work out their own style.
When guys start playing, the audience stands always in the foreground. Everybody finds something special for himself, which awakes the desire to dance and have some fun.

3 QUESTIONS to VAMOS ART:

Q: How did you guys meet and what was the motor doing electronic music together?

A: We got to know each other early in childhood during drum lessons. Later we met again at the same parties we attended and where we played music together. The motor doing electronic music is until today the love for the music and especially electronic music like Techno.

Q: Talking about your mix: What do these tracks especially mean to you?

A: We combine the tracks in our mix with cool club evenings and wild after parties. They have always accompanied us and laid the foundation for which music we particularly like today and how we build our DJ sets.

Q: Which future projects are coming later this year?

A: We are currently working on new tracks in our studio that will be released this year. We are looking forward to our next gigs in Cologne, Berlin, Stuttgart and Hamburg. We also can’t wait to play at some great festivals this summer. Stay tuned!
