I had an amazing time playing my first international set at Full Night Festival: Night Madness in Budapest, Hungary this past weekend. Many thanks to everyone for all the love and energy on the dancefloor. I couldn't have pictured a better way to celebrate my first month in Hungary since emigrating from South Africa. Bloom 2022 -- A Nomada and Psylush Project -- A fusion of amazing spirits, forest canopies, and a community that carried a breath of Solstice Gathering vibes. 

Originally I had intended to keep things a bit more on the progressive psy with this set -- but with the sunshine of a Sunday afternoon, and with more skilled producers and DJs bringing the psychedelic techno and progressive elements, I naturally gravitated towards a bit more full-on and full open-air psy. While this set doesn't hit the blistering full power psy speeds -- there's plenty of intensity. I blame the dancefloor. Especially you Hala! :D

EXAE - Introduction DJ-Set

This year I had the privilige to play a DJ-Set at Momento Demento Festival in Croatia after the Greek Darkpsy Duo Quadraphonic (Antonymous and Tromo) at 7 am on Thursday, the 28th of July. Momento Demento this year was a milestone in the developement of a Psychedelic Trance Festival Culture for me. Organization, Infrastructure, soundsystem, the genereal vibe as well as the crowd were truly amazing and have been setting new standards for what is possible within our scene. I am already more than curious how they will try to top that next year :) Tried to play a very dynamic set, slowly but steadily decreasing the pace from start to end by 7 bpm, bridging the gap from Dark Psy to Daytime Fullon.. A few Artists incorporated are Yab Yum, Chromatec vs Kasatka, Illegal Machines, Virtual Light vs Zentrix, Purist, Dsompa, Ianuaria, Spectralis, Mechanical Species, Sychotria, The Skeptozoids, LAB vs Hydrae (in no particular order).

The legendary Sonica Dance Festival took for the first time place in the beautiful valley of Tramonti di Sotto in Northern Italy. The stunning landscape, the mild climate and the crystal clear water equally contributed to the festival such as the well balanced and very tasteful line up (with 9 Sangoma Records acts involved !!). I had the honour to play in the first night of the festival, before one of my favorite forest-music producers these days, Meerkut from France. I must say have not had such a vivid and euphoric dancefloor in a long time, Italians truly know how to party and channel their first-night-euphoria into some truly exuberant dancing-activities. Thanks to everybody who made it! Back to Mars at the Parvati Stage - Free Earth Festival 2019

Dear fellow creatures, in these ambivalent times full of change and uncertainty, we are facing new states of our everyday modes that are asking us to adopt likewise measures. We are undergoing social distancing in order to unite in a common cause, we are undergoing inactivity in order to take action, and we are forgetting our differences in order to remember that we are all connected in a circle much larger than we can possibly grasp.

Aligning to this global situation, we have made a small attempt to reach out to all of you. We feel that we need to impose some special measures and in the same ambivalent manner we decided that a strict Forestdelic curfew needs to be announced all over your speakers. Everyday from 21:00 CET there will be a new recorded set from one of our native artists on our Soundcloud page for about an hour of positivity, joy and inspiration, and when movement in the area of fear, panic and despair will be strictly forbidden. All the rest of your daily time we kindly ask from everyone to be conscious, disciplined and caring for one another and exercise the general guidelines active in your respective areas.

sG4rY is an anthropologist, general adventurist, humorist, academic scholar and Psychedelic Trance DJ with more than 15 years of international experience, residing in Bavarias beautiful capital Munich. 

He represents the well-known music label Sangoma Records since it was founded in 2011, being responsible for its first Various Artist release in 2012 (VA - Multi-Faith Mantra) and currently working on another release with a well known Bavarian Darkpsy Label ;) 

His heavy itchy feet syndrom, his taste in a wide range of styles in Psychedelic Trance and the lust for encountering new like minded psychonauts has led him to perform at events such as Antaris Project (Germany), Hilltop New Years Eve (Goa/India), Mo:Dem Festival (Croatia), Kosmos Festival (Finland), Sonica Dance Festival (Italy), Universal Religion (Nepal), Trimurti Festival (Russia), Waldfrieden Wonderland Festival (Germany), Yaga Gathering (Lithuania) and countless other events around Austria, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Switzerland, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey and the Netherlands.

Creating a journey sui generis for his listeners is his biggest aspiration. Psychedelic Trance has to be approached from different angles, using the many colourful vibrations it offers. Therefore, sG4rY likes to play sets as long as possible in order to draw from the different musical influences he gets from befriended artists, musicians and freaks around the globe. Nightly journeys that disscolve towards the first glimpses of the new day as well as sending the crowd into the night with a powerful kick off, or even sunny variations with non-cheesy hypnotic daytime trance are all part of his repertoire. He loves that special energy during sunrise and sunset on the dancefloor and tries to use it for involving the crowd into a flow of certain feelings and sensations, sometimes humorous, sometimes gloomy or filled with deep emotions. His numerous various artist releases over the years on different labels mirror this passion for muscial variety and expression.
