Returning to the label 2 years after the success of 'Nachami EP', we bring back a good friend of Bushman: Da Africa Deep, who is returning with a small EP before the release of his Debut album. With the release of his debut album just around the corner, Da Africa Deep wanted to work with WeAreiDyll to release Aries EP first. 

Aries EP is a journey where you don't need the archetypical drumline to get you moving. What Da Africa Deep does so well with his music is blending Melodic Synths and Piano chords to give the track more feeling than just your drumline. The growth in Da Africa Deep's music comes from learning from his piers for the last 2/3 years, ensuring he develops his sound the right way. The EP allows Da Africa Deep to shine through various Afro House patterns but keeping you on the same trajectory which is above the clouds. 

Aries comes through strong with a sweet and smooth flip on your Typical Da Africa Deep melody; it brings you into the EP straight away and as soon as the chants come in, you are locked. This type of production from Da Africa Deep is why he is one of the bright stars in the scene. Enlisting Sona, for the track 'Bind', Da Africa Deep explained the bond they had when creating this release and why it differs from your usual Afro House tracks you would hear. The cowbells carry the track while the Piano mixing with the Synth elevates the feeling inside you to keep moving. 'Te Amo' comes forward bouncy and allows the listener to enjoy the feeling of Afro House music. This laid-back style is working perfectly for Da Africa Deep, where you can see the early sets he has played have developed another side of production. The small vocal on the track not only gives a sense of familiarity with the drumline, but also gives the listener a reason to continue dancing.

We love working with Da Africa Deep and respect his talent and style. The synergy between him and Bushman is second to none, and we are so happy to bring him back for his second release under the label.

With “Ubuntu”, Shahrokh Dini translates ancient africanism beats into an epic contemporary state-of-the-art – afro house tune.

Ubuntu, which means humanity in Zulu and describes an African philosophy, reflects Shahrokh’s explicit statement in these wrecked political times. The superb re-work by mastermind David Mayer elevates the original to a deep, mystic and lush afrosphere...

Shahrokh Dini left Karlsruhe, while he is even more active than ever in his old and new basecamp Berlin. Not even that he played a lot of nice gigs during summer (Amsterdam, few times on Ibiza, lot of gigs in Berlin, Italy, Corfu, Sardinia), he is also busy in the studio with several releases and remixes (btw.: one for Compost artist Felix Laband).

After the first release of his new activities: “Now We Can Dance” with the strong and lovely vocals by Illinois, here comes the follow-up “Ubuntu” with a lush David Mayer re-work.

For both releases we can announce stunning remixes by Lehar (Diynamic Music, Connaisseur Recordings), David Mayer (formerly Keinemusik, Ouïe), Apoena (Freerange), Omer Tayar (The Gardens of Babylon/Tel Aviv), Patrick Zigon (Biotop, Traumraum), Tooker (Ouïe, Crosstown Rebels), Kovi and others, which will be out on vinyl, too.

Okay, you’re listening to the 23rd edition of Kompakt’s annual compilation series TOTAL… hold on… 23??? It’s impossible to look at this number without thinking of William S. The lively dance begins solemnly with KOLLMORGEN’s deep-subtle minimal gem “Muddy”. Making her debut is the wonderful ARGIA with the somewhat misleading title ‘No Concept’ – the Madrid native indeed has a very precise plan. Also, our number one hit guarantor, JÜRGEN PAAPE, is represented here with his brand-new super hit ‘Alone In Italy’. His colleague MICHAEL MAYER is also in top disco spirits with ‘Talmi’. One of the secret weapons of the current season comes from STEPHAN BARNEM & FUTURISTANT. ‘Don’t Cry’ is a passionate New Wave belter for eternity. JÖRG BURGER proclaims a new, trippy genre: Cinematic Dance, before C.A.R. & PATRICE BÄUMEL slowly raise the energy level in the ‘Four Down’ Club Mix. JOHN TEJADA then cruises calmly at the desired cruising altitude while the cabin crew serves refreshments. ‘Duration’ by BARNT/MAYER pays tribute to an artist formerly known as Prince with grand rave romanticism, and about REX THE DOG’s summer smash hit ‘Change This Pain For Ecstasy’, there’s really nothing more to say. The Thuringian force of nature ROBAG WRUHME must not be missing here, of course. ‘Fire’ once again shows him in top form, with one of the dirtiest basslines in techno history. A continuation of the Atmos Minimal series, “Second Wave” delivers deep, meditative, and psychedelic techno energy for those who seek pure minimal sound.

Starting 2021 kicking like yer proverbial mule, hot on the heels of The Selador Showcase: The Twelfth Night Part One, we are proud to present, with a characteristic mix of dexterity, alacrity and logic – Part Two! 

Like its predecessor, this second instalment once again puts the spotlight on a whole host of global electronic production talent (2 x welcome returnees, 4 x Selador debutants) and covers a multitude of styles in one essential package.

First, we find hot Russian duo Goom Gum in tandem with Istanbul-based Gaidukova. ‘Freedom’ is a wonderfully constructed riff fest, underpinned by a mean growling bassline. Peak time action.

Next up, the prolific Several Definitions (Switzerland) brings us the magnificent brooding beast that is ‘Boske’. Maximum wonkiness, just how we like it.

UK scene stalwart Kiz Pattison delivers ‘Intruder’ – this particular intrusion is most welcome though as the insistent lead riff burrows its way into the darkest recesses of your cranium. Hold tight.

London-based Rashid Ajami follows renowned for the emotional depth of his productions, and the beautiful ‘The Lie’, in partnership with Dröm, will only help cement that reputation. Proper swish.

Next from Spain, we welcome Martin HERRS & Thimble, whose hypnotic ‘Impala’ is awash with exotic sounds cascading over a pulsating bassline. Deep, unrelenting business. 

And we conclude with Nila, the New Zealand-based Scot adding to his growing stature with Asyn on the yearning vocals for the powerful, instantly inspiring ‘Answers’.

Shahrokh Dini, formerly known as Shahrokh Sound of K or DJ Shahrokh in the '90s, has been making a name for himself as a DJ since the early 90s. His DJ sets flow with the class of an experienced performer, seamlessly blending House with a journey through Detroit and Chicago, passing through Disco, and returning to modern-day vibes. His sound remains deeply rooted in soulful and deep traditions while incorporating refreshingly contemporary facets. A fellow musical peer once likened him to a chameleon for his intelligent approach to electronic music.
Shahrokh Dini’s productions and live DJ sets are crafted to ignite dance floors worldwide, creating epic moments. His album Dripping Point received massive acclaim in magazines such as De:Bug, Groove, Raveline, XLR8R, DJ Magazine, and others. As a true purveyor of house music, he has garnered widespread support throughout his long and distinguished career as both a DJ and producer. He frequently plays in Ibiza during the summer, holds residencies in Berlin, and has released music on renowned labels such as Sasse’s Moodmusic, Miss Moneypenny Records, and Compost Black Label. His work has been supported by industry greats such as Ron Trent, Jimpster, Dimitri From Paris, Laurent Garnier, Boo Williams, Glenn Underground, Solomun, Frankey & Sandrino, Agoria, Maceo Plex, Steve Bug, Âme, and many more.
Beyond his work as a producer and DJ, Shahrokh Dini has been running clubs since the mid-'90s, regularly promoting major club-music events and holding multiple DJ residencies. His remix portfolio includes work for Niki Harris (Madonna’s background singer), Gloria Gaynor, Automat, Mateo & Matos, Robert Owens, Marbert Rocel, Bar, Simon Flower, Vanessa Daou, and many more. While Compost Records remains his home and family base for various releases, he has also collaborated with Strictly Rhythm and Ministry of Sound.
In the past, he has engaged artists such as Metro Area, Kevin Saunderson, and Âme for events at institutions like the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (ZKM), as well as for Luigi Colani, HfG Karlsruhe, and the 300-year Karlsruhe anniversary festival. His keen eye for talent was evident early on, as he recruited these artists as residents for his Electric Mood events during their formative years. Additionally, Shahrokh now curates and runs the after-party of the prestigious art KARLSRUHE art fair in collaboration with the State Theater, an annual highlight in the region.
As a producer, Shahrokh has collaborated with international talents such as Robert Owens, Niki Harris, Gloria Gaynor, Tikiman (Basic Channel), Barbara Tucker, Nathan McLau, and Jaime Lloyd (Future Classic).
