Sleep is an electronic music composer and DJ from Dublin, Ireland. The music is best described as experimental ambient music similar to the work of Gas, William Basinski and Alvin Lucier. The artist explores a variety of symbolic and literal meanings of what Sleep can mean. The new 5-track ep on Urban Arts Berlin label titled 'Portals' explores symbolic meanings of Sleep, with tracks Daylight, Arise, Portal 1, Portal 2 and Sleeping Bells. Sleep  also DJs on Dublin Digital Radio arranging the mix to accompany the first hour of a sleep cycle, the music mostly consists of instrumental and electronic ambient music selected for that transitional period.

Singer&Song writer, Guitarist&Composer, Listener&Selector

Lately, there have been many shifts in the music industry, and I may have my own perspective on what is happening. In the beginning, it put me off (which is why I haven’t posted much music lately). But I had to revisit myself and reflect on what truly makes musicmaking enjoyable for me. It is the creative process and being thoughtful about the music and lyrics I create. It is a journey. It has always been a journey for me, and the feeling of accomplishing something unique has been very important to me.

Because of that, I am no longer afraid of exploring different approaches.  I am still asking questions in forums, studying how others create nice sounding vocals, postproduction. What is new is that I even using AI to generate alternative fingerpicking and arpeggio ideas for small parts of chord progression I have written. Then I replicate or it put me on other ideas. ( I havent posted new songs yet though, but they prolly comes)
I have learned that it does not take away from the creative process. Instead, it expands it and creates more room for growth, opportunities, and developing my skills. In the end of the day, I think its all about how you use it.

I believe it is all about how you approach the future and how you find your own way through everything that happens around you. You can still be authentic.

Other than that, I still do the same things I have always done. 

My musical references and inspirations include Sigur Rós, Toto, Peter Gabriel, Clannad, and Loreena McKennitt, as well as several Norwegian artists. I am also inspired by books and films with a fantasy or medieval atmosphere, especially the works of J. R. R. Tolkien. I am currently writing a book as well.
