Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

As he glanced upward, he realized the courtyard was like a well for the sky — the stars and night seemed to flow into it endlessly. Was the courtyard built for just that purpose? he wondered. Light from the house streamed through the lattice-patterned doors, illuminating the enclosure like a lit lantern. There, the father was surrounded by visiting children, whom the goldfish man recognized as his earlier customers. Some of the children were playing on the ground with clay toys of boys, buffalo, monkeys, and rabbits while others were being served tea by the father. “This tea is a gift from our faraway friends,” the father was saying as he handed a child a cup. “They call it Dragon Well. A mesmerizing flavor made by tea leaves that are picked by the first light of day”. P A N is a man with passion and endless love for Dragons. This is his second offering for Shango Records. These three tracks can guide you to the mysteries of tea making. Arodes and Nick Varon are selecting liquid leaves from tea plantations deep in Alpha Centaury bound system.

Aynur Dogan is one of the most powerful folk singers of Kurdish origin. For people outside of Turkey, you may remember her singing a song in a hamam (Turkish bath) in Fatih Akin's 2005 Istanbul music documentary film, Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul.

From Robert Rigney of SongLines.co.uk: "In it (the movie) Aynur sings a haunting, dirge-like Kurdish lament in an Ottoman-era hamam, plucking brittle saz lines alongside a deep and resonant oud. Later, she speaks to the camera about the sorry state of Kurdish rights in Turkey, and how, at a recent show, she had been heckled by right-wing youths, who stormed the stage, forcing the saz from her hands."

Seventeen years passed and Aynur was once again facing limitations in her own country. Just recently, one of her concerts was canceled in Turkey. Being a fan of her work, I just took my time to create and dedicate this edit to her. "Together" we are strong, divided we are apart.

The track was originally released in her 2013 album, Hevra (Together).

For our 58th release on Juicebox Music, we welcome back Alan Cerra from Argentina with a 2-track EP featuring "Henkere" and "Arrival". Having made his debut appearance on our imprint's "Fables" series with his track "Caravan", the Santa Cruz based artist has been relentlessly churning out stunners on well respected labels such as Roger Martinez's 'Higher States', Miss Monique's 'Siona', Armen Miran's 'Hoomidaas', Framewerk's 'Capital Heaven' as well as Mike Koglin and MoodFreak's 'YOMO' to name a few. Armed with a plethora of melodies and driving grooves, Alan Cerra plays to his strengths to deliver "Henkere" and "Arrival", themed around a more gnarly and mysterious undertone with hints of euphoria trickling in at the right moments.

To remix Alan Cerra's "Henkere", we called in one of our label residents who's expertise has been delivering twisted monsters. Meet Aman Anand, a Singapore-based Indian-native that's been pushing the boundaries of psychedelic and tech influenced progressive house for the past few years. Aman Anand's recent solo and collaborative work can be found on Paul Hazendonk's 'MNL', Mango's 'Mango Alley' and Jelly For The Babies 'One of a Kind'. His recent associations with our label include his remix of Jiminy Hop's "Tension" as well as the club-smashing collaborative single with label-boss Praveen Achary titled "Fiasco". For his latest contribution, Aman Anand takes Alan Cerra's "Henkere" into deep-space territory with effects and sound-design inspired by the intergalactic cosmos coupled with a fierce groove.

Making his debut appearance on our imprint is Caledonia-based Canadian artist - Dowden. A stalwart with his craft, Dowden's style can range from high octane gritty progressive to enchanting deep hymns, all with a subtle tone of darkness and mystery. With his recent music being released on Integral Bread's 'Univack', Juan Pablo Torres' 'Clubsonica', Tim Penner's 'Slideways', D-Formation's 'Beatfreak Limited' and Soul Button's 'Steyoyoke', Dowden has set his sight firmly on an upward trajectory. For his remix of Alan Cerra's "Arrival", Dowden takes the more deeper, atmospheric and hypnotic route showcasing the forgotten-but-vital art of building tension over time.

Tantra means the indestructible continuity that lies as the very basis for every moment of consciousness , it's the basis for every content of experience. Just like the sky is the basis for sunshine, clouds and rain. Consequently, nothing escapes being part of the big play, the mahamaya of life. Tantra is like the soft kiss between the bee and the flower, between the dew drop and the first ray of the morning sun, between your consciousness, the sunlit space and the openness that knows, and the moment of experience. It is the soft kiss that takes the form of hearing a sound. The knowing and the sound are indivisible and in this indivisibility there is magic. This magic is the tantra of the timeless moment - O'mnipresencia !
It’s beyond. It’s transcendental and it’s ourselves, whether we know it or not.

This tantra is the reality of the living moment of consciousness. It’s infinite, whether we know it or not. It’s the great mystery, whether we know it or not. It is like this, already. It has has nothing to do with achievement, but with acknowledging what is: that the present moment is wonderful, mystical, infinite. Acknowledging that it’s beyond any concept we can connect it with or any label we can attach.

We are mystical, transcendental, wonderful beings. Not just us human beings, but everyone, even the tiniest insect, the goldsmith, the mosquito, the little fly. Every moment in every sentient being’s life is simply amazing. This amazing mystery is the very core, the very heart, of the real tantra of experienced life. It has nothing to do with being a Buddhist or a tantric practitioner, but the tantric teachings explains this so clearly: how reality is for everyone, for you, me and for all other sentient beings.

Tantra is in the present moment, in the soft kiss of experience. Here the unity of space and knowingness are indivisible. It is here, in the center of our natural mandala, that we acknowledge this.

We would like to thank all the artists who gave birth to the O'mnipresencia project and who contributed with amazing musical interpretation and inspiration, shaping it's essence with spirit of a mysticial transcendental journey.

ABOUT THE EP:
Ellora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the Sambhajinagar district of Maharashtra, India. It is one of the largest rock-cut Hindu temple cave complexes in the world, with artwork dating from the period 600–1000 CE. Cave 16 features the largest single monolithic rock excavation in the world, the Kailash temple, a chariot-shaped monument dedicated to the god Shiva. The Kailash temple excavation also features sculptures depicting various Hindu deities as well as relief panels summarizing the two major Hindu epics.

There are over 100 caves at the site, all excavated from the basalt cliffs in the Charanandri Hills, 34 of which are open to public. These consist of 17 Hindu (caves 13–29), 12 Buddhist (caves 1–12) and 5 Jain (caves 30–34) caves, each group representing deities and mythologies prevalent in the 1st millennium CE, as well as monasteries of each respective religion. They were built close to one another and illustrate the religious harmony that existed in ancient India. All of the Ellora monuments were built during the Rashtrakuta dynasty (r. 753-982 CE), which constructed part of the Hindu and Buddhist caves, and the Yadava dynasty (c. 1187–1317), which constructed a number of the Jain caves. Funding for the construction of the monuments was provided by royals, traders and the wealthy of the region
