Simakov - Organ

Alongside Jun Fukamashi, Haruomi Hosono, Takashi Kokubo, Inoyama Land and many others, Hiroshi Yoshimura is a pioneer of the japanese "environmental ambient" music (kankyō ongaku) since the masterpiece debut album "Music for nine postcards" was released in 1982.

Many years dedicated to teach music and compose various projects after, notably "Green" in 1986, Yoshimura released "Wet Land" in 1993 on Eastworld Records.

It is when I met and host the brazilian artist from Voodoohop Numa Gama that I discovered the wonderful aquatic atmosphere and ethereal pads of "Singing Stream". I immediately decided to reinterpretate it by adding some percussions, a Model D-oriented bassline as well as crispy textures and smooth transitions to transform it into an ambient dancefloor track.

Eu comecei esse edit depois de passar um mês na Bahia de dez/2019 a jan/2020, quando fui para lá tocar no Universo Parallelo 20 anos. Ao voltar daquela terra maravilhosa senti que deveria fazer um edit em homenagem a esse lugar tão espetacular que temos a honra e a sorte de pertencer ao nosso querido país. Curiosamente, eu não tive trabalho em ter que escolher esta música. Não somente porque há muitas canções homenageando este maravilhoso Estado, mas porque eu já tinha essa música em um projeto no Ableton e acabei cruzando com ela sem querer. É muito comum eu pegar músicas que me chamam a atenção e colocar em um projeto no Ableton. Há muitas delas e grande maioria eu nunca vou terminar (ou nem começar direito rsrs). 

Mateus Aleluia pertenceu à formação original do grupo Os Tincoãs e dispensa apresentações. Os seus dois álbuns solo são completamente fantásticos!! Esta música é do álbum Fogueira Doce (2017) e é extremamente bela. Representa perfeitamente o lindo sentimento que esta terra desperta em nossos corações e as emoções que eu queria transmitir após esse período incrível que passei por lá. Eu coloquei um leve toque de psicodelia, aquele grave mais brabo e deixei mais devagar que a versão original. Espero que gostem!!!

I started this edit after spending a month in Bahia from Dec / 2019 to Jan / 2020, when I went there to play at Universo Parallelo 20th year edition. When I returned of this wonderful land, I felt that I should do an edit track in honor of this spectacular place that we are honored and lucky to belong to our beloved country. Interestingly, I had no trouble choosing this song. Not only because there are a lot of songs honoring this wonderful state, but because I already had this song on a project at Ableton and I ended up coming across it unintentionally. It is very common for me to take songs that catch my attention and put them on a project on Ableton. There are many of them and the vast majority I will never finish (or even start it lol). 

Mateus Aleluia belonged to the original formation of the group “Os Tincoãs” and needs no introduction. His two solo albums are completely fantastic !! This song is from the Fogueira Doce (2017) album and is extremely beautiful. It perfectly represents the beautiful feeling that this land awakens in our hearts and the emotions that I wanted to transmit after this incredible period that I spent there. I put a light touch of psychedelia, some stronger bass and left it slower than the original version. Hope you like it !!!

Elok Teja Suminar, was born on a small island, Madura in Indonesia. Started writing poetry and short stories since was a child. Currently, she has published novels, many anthology with other writers in Indonesia, And just published a collection of short stories. Elok also arranges many of her own poems into songs. now with her husband who is also poet and flute maker, Robi Akbar, owner of Juang Flutes. They support each other to continue producing artwork.

It's nearly dawn when I wake up. I draw the curtain back and take a look. It must have just stopped raining, since everything is still wet and drippy. Clouds to the east are sharply etched against the sky, each one framed by light. The sky looks ominous one minute, inviting the next. It all depends on the angle. The bus plows down the highway at a set speed, the tires humming along, never getting any louder or softer. Same with the engine, its monotonous sound like a mortar smoothly grinding down time and the consciousness of the people on board. The other passengers are all sunk back in their seats, asleep, their curtains drawn tight. The driver and I are the only ones awake. We're being carried, efficiently and numbly, toward our destination. Feeling thirsty, I take a bottle of mineral water from the pocket of my backpack and drink some of the lukewarm water. From the same pocket I pull out a box of soda crackers and munch a few, enjoying that familiar dry taste. According to my watch it's 4:32. I check the date and day of the week, just to be on the safe side. Thirteen hours since I left home. Time hasn't leaped ahead more than it should or done an unexpected about-face. It's still my birthday, still the first day of my brand-new life. I shut my eyes, open them again, again checking the time and date on my watch. Then I switch on the reading light, take out a paperback book, and start reading.
