A dance music auteur with a decade-spanning career under his belt, MACEO PLEX is a man with many faces, having successfully rebranded global floors since the early noughties under various monickers, including his well-known Maetrik guise. But with power comes responsibility, as they say, and if there's one producer constantly hitting the right balance between underground antics and overground charade, it's the US-bred, Barcelona-based artist. A case in point would be future prime time banger CONJURE SUPERSTAR, a critical, yet highly danceable reading of current DJ hypes.

Equally kinetic and vigorous, CONJURE SUPERST AR is a floor charmer of the highest order, sparkling with powerful sound minutiae while heading for the kind of melodic epicness that should for ever be announced with synth fanfares, starting now. It's also an integral part of the producer's ongoing "Conjure" series of releases, where he screens contemporary club culture for its creative (and human) pitfalls, stating his concern via the finely honed means of an accomplished studio magician and revered crowd favorite.

WGVinyl029 Jimi Jules - Bogotá EP will be released on 12" vinyl and digital on February 22nd.

It's no secret Jimi Jules is an integral part of the Watergate crew since he is a regular fixture at both the club and our international showcases. As well as being a core artist on our very own W Agency we are extremely proud and excited to say we can now include him as part of the Watergate Records roster. When it comes to debuts, it doesn't get any better than Jimi's 'Bogotá' EP and over the course of three tracks, he showcases his best work to date.

Kicking things off with massive, rolling low end and swirling tones is 'Hundeblick'. It's a trippy, big room burner bursting with tension. With long siren-like amplifications swelling relentlessly, 'Hundleblick' surges until it finally crescendos into an obscure yet hauntingly smooth voice.

Next up is the twisted tune 'Modulation' and by relying on just a few integral elements and an insanely infectious groove, the key to this one is in the title. Modulating bleeps, blips and a steady chant of the word 'modulation' create a constantly evolving narrative always held together with expertly crafted percussion. Finally, rounding out the EP is Jimi's most passionate tune of the group, same name as the EP; 'Bogotá'. Layers of harmony, silky guitars and field recordings combine with hints of jazz influence resulting in a perfect tune for serenading the most intimate dance floor moments.

As a whole the EP has been perfectly crafted to provide the definitive tune for any dance floor moment no matter the situation. Compliments to Jimi Jules on an incredible opener and enjoy the ride that is 'Bogotá'.
