Ode to Ian

New mix from local dancefloor (and wine) connoisseur @djs_djs. Best known as 1/2 of ambient duo Hypnotic Spa, he turns up the heat on this vinyl session with some freaky techno and house. Some words from the man himself: 

This mix was recorded after the Level Party weekender upstate last summer, one of the first parties I went to in NYC after re-opening. It inspired me to think about djing again. It's the first mix from all records I've recorded in almost 2 years, many of which I've bought from friends and dj mentors in Kyiv, where I first got into dance music. It's kind of homage to them and all the education I got there. My closest friends and loved ones in Ukraine are volunteering, organizing, and doing everything they can to help defend the country against Russian invaders. It's a conflicting time to be sharing a dj mix, but I've included a link where you can donate to Spilka, a NYC-based Ukrainian-artists collective that is sending money and resources to those in need in the country, it's organized by friends and I trust them completely. Please consider donating what you can. Ukraine's spirit is uncrushable, this music celebrates that freedom and their independence. Слава Україні!

It’s a special time of year in the Mouthfull radio calendar, as this show marks both the stations birthday, and resident host @bella-johansson 's 4-year broadcast anniversary. 
The first some times broadcast was in August 2020; and was somewhat irregular; roughly every quarter, giving inspiration to the name some times; though this has evolved and she’s locked in to a regular monthly slot, so despite being in another hemisphere, says she’s been looking forward to putting her thoughts into sharing two hours of music. 

This broadcast is the first in a series of shows whilst on the road; Bel is also beginning to explore the addition of field recordings; dipping in and out of slinky moments of slowness and respite, picking up at points - leaning into the usual downtempo, trip hop, ambient, and interesting leftfield wonky stuff; soundtracking some of the energetic highs and lows of her travels over the past month.

...it's been a while

Came up with something different. Been balling with ideas past year, but this is the only track I'm publishing for now. Might come up with few side drops for those other projects I've done. 

The lead melody in the background is an improvisation take with my synth, everything else is layered. This song is funny in that sense that the drums are fully also made with synth (usually I use a drum machine for them) and placed accordingly. Came up with vox in few minutes, was just hyping this track and placed a mic and started to sing something random. Mixed em heavily, to get that ambience feel.
