You may be forgiven for thinking that quality R&B music has been on life support for the last few years. The good news is that it’s just been given the kiss of life and the vocalist providing the resuscitation is Bayonne, New Jersey native Marlena Moniece. A teen gospel sensation who has performed up and down the East Coast, from Miami to Maryland with legendary gospel acts such as The Winans, Marlena has also been featured on television, on FOX 5 News, CBS and News 12, Nick Cannon’s New Year’s 2015 and won New Artist Awards on iHeart Radio and BBC Radio. Her vocals are as soulful and thick as molasses and just as sweet. Her music is a combination of classic R&B vocals and melodies with cutting edge production, courtesy of  Fety Wapp producer Treadway and a contingent of hot beat makers out of New Jersey and New York. All songs were co-written by Marlena.

Kissing Game by Marlena Moniece

I can remember this track being a big tune back in late 80s but didn't realise that it went UK Top 20. The original was produced by the legendary Blaze with the dream team of Frankie Knuckles and David Morales teaming up for the "One Mix" remix. 
Before tackling this remix I had the usual search round the internet for bootlegs and remixes of this track and was surprised by how little had been done. I recently heard Michael Grays remix on his Glitterbox stream and there's a great wee film on his Facebook page showing how he literally started from scratch creating his remix, when I started mine I realised why. The track is very busy in that there is very little you can cut out and use for remix purposes, there's no real vocal breakdown that you would normally find on a big vocal track and there is loads of percussion and snare drums throughout the track. Hopefully though with a bit of patience and EQ'ing I've got enough out of it to do a decent job on this.
