Wonderwheel Recordings is very proud to present the long awaited debut album Bennu by Queens, NY based produced Thor Partridge, aka Thornato. Building up a name for himself over a number of years as a proficient and in-demand remixer, Thor’s breakout tune “Gaita Gaita” has been sampled thousands of times by producers all over the world, and has become a certified hit record in South America. A string of remixes and a couple of rare song releases later, Thor’s groundbreaking Things Will Change EP was released via Wonderwheel in 2016 garnering massive buzz and record sales, resulting in a European tour that summer, and a Boiler Room performance in the fall.

Bennu represents a giant leap forward for Thornato, as he showcases his chops in crafting dancefloor gems from the ground up. While the electronic production of the album provides a strong backbone, Thor has carefully selected artists from Jamaica, Ecuador, South Africa, Colombia, Canada and beyond to breathe live energy into each song. From the massive bass driven energetic dancehall vibes of “Rhinoceros” featuring veteran chat master Gappy Ranks, to earth shattering chopped up African dancefloor sounds of “Chagamei” to the contemplative Flamenco influenced deep house sound of “Welwyn”, and moving into the uplifting & soulful dembow vibes of “Tu Luz” featuring Lido Pimentia – Bennu is an album that carefully navigates through the globe while maintaining a cohesive and consistent feel from start to finish.

Contrary to the songs name, this interpretation of a traditional afro-brasilian candomblè song, appears to be forged from mythical lost amazonian gold. Recorded in Sao Paulo with an allstar cast of Artéria FM (on vocal duties), Salvador Araguaya (caressing the Viola Caipira) & Spaniol (stroking the Baixo), steered by Nicola’s production prowess, this quartet delivers a melodic enhancement to the summer sun. On Camino de Flores, his second full-length album, El Búho reimagines electronic music through the lense of the natural world and its rich soundscapes. 

Drawing on the inspiration of traditional rhythms and sounds, notably from Latin America, Camino de Flores is an album that transports you to another place. Following the success of his first LP, titled Balance, El Búho is back and takes us on a journey from high mountains to cascading waterfalls, from a dusky rainforest to a crackling fire beneath a clear, star-filled sky. The album charts a pathway between traditional rhythms, the sound of the natural world, IDM electronica and a deep, enveloping dancefloor sound. 

With rhythms, instruments and effects built from field recordings or “found sound”, on Camino de Flores it is often hard to distinguish between synths and drum machines, from birds, water, rain or crunching leaves.

The Long Run is a gem of a track birthed out of the collaborative fusion of the groovy vocals and guitar of ELIH along with the delicate yet driving production of BLOOM. The track carries a special summertime vibe with an uplifting energy which offers the listener an opportunity to lighten up and connect with the sun inside. The groovy guitar complimented by a hypnotic synth and the soulful vocals of ELIH fuse to open hearts and inspire ecstatic movement.
