FULL DISCLOSURE: I am in no way a hip hop DJ, and I honestly don't listen to a lot of it but I fully appreciate a little bit of 90s hip hop & RnB. This girl also loves her funk and soul ;)

I had to give it a think before taking this gig knowing that 28 Hong Kong Street's usual vibe in Singapore is old hip hop. But I couldn't say no to this bar, I've been there only twice but had an amazing time, once a random first date and once with friends. With a little push from my good friend Adam Matthews who always always reassures me that I fucking get the vibe, I went into digging and put together a list of hip hop, funk, soul, house and everything in between for the room to chill out, chat and groove to.

This was somewhat out of my comfort zone but I think I gave it a pretty good shot and stuck within the realm of whatever my sound is.

Playing this set at Burning Man 2023 was a truly unforgettable experience, and it happened on Thursday night, just before a wild storm hit. Playing for friends and fellow burners in the desert was an absolute joy, making the night before the rain even more extraordinary. We did not anticipate that we'd weather the storm for three days, but as it raged on, it created a unique sense of unity and resilience. When the sun finally pierced through the clouds, it felt like a genuine desert rebirth for all of us. 

I want to express my deep gratitude to @sabda-music-official for generously sharing his unreleased tracks with me; they added an enchanting dimension to the night. <3

Once upon a magical evening, in the enchanting realm of Amsterdam, the Tulpa & Friends community orchestrated the Tulpa Intergalactic Christmas dinner and party. Hidden away in a secret location, a joyous celebration unfolded, accompanied by a whimsical house set that echoed through the mystical air. The music, filled with funky and groovy enchantment, danced alongside the spirits of indie dance and cultural influences, creating a fairy tale atmosphere that lingered in the hearts of all who attended.

What an extraordinary night it was at the Alborz Fundraiser party on Saturday April 13, 2024, held in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles, California at the Creatington space. The whimsical decor, curated by the incomparable Molly Balloons, transformed the venue into a kaleidoscope of colors, while the enchanting artworks by the ever-inspiring Olivia Steele added an extra layer of magic to the ambiance. Playing for such a wonderful community was an absolute pleasure, and the setup, with its ethereal stage, felt like something out of a fairy tale. To everyone who joined us in turning our dusty dreams into reality, your presence made the evening truly unforgettable. Here's to many more moments like this!

This year, I had the incredible honor of attending and playing at all 3 @camp_alborz fundraisers, which took place in LA, DC, & NY. It was a privilege to be part of these events before our camp heads to Burning Man. Although I won’t be making it to the ‘Playa’ this year, being a part of these events gives me a unique sense of participation & connection. I played at a late hour into sunrise, during which I embarked on an adventurous, weeeeeird, eclectic, & risky musical journey. I hope it resonates with you!

Prima Lux: Kellie Allen

It’s been a few months since my 6AM set at Comfort Zone during our annual Techno Without Borders After Party, and the energy from that night is still resonating. The seamless transition from our sunset boat cruise to the underground atmosphere of Comfort Zone kept the vibes flowing perfectly—something truly special. After my good friend Saad Ayub set the tone, I dove into a raw, hypnotic groove and carried that energy deep into the morning. 

This set took me deeper than usual, exploring a driving, raw sound I don’t often get to play—and it felt unreal. From Sam Van Horne to 5AM Van Horne, this one hit differently.
