The music herein is dedicated in loving memory to my dear friend, Daniel McClung. After his untimely and tragic passing in January 2014, I was determined to turn my grief into a sonic memorial for an old friend.  

The two sides of this tape compile an arrangement of recordings that Dan, myself, and our friends made in high school. Recorded in my parents garage, using some primitive audio software on Dan's old laptop, most of the old recordings are unbearably noisy and at times very funny. Everything you hear on this tape was selected carefully from hours of long-form improvisations that we recorded with bands such as (the) Mel Gibson, Small Metal Buildings and Sex &Trombones. 

While combing through all the noise, however, little gems of hushed sweetness glimmered through, whispering, making the hours of screaming and distorted guitars as quiet as tape hiss. 

This piece was very difficult for me to complete. While I try to remain emotionally detached from most of my work, this piece seems to pull and poke at me and my memories. I'm very emotionally attached to it, so much so that it becomes difficult for me to listen to. But I hope that you'll be able to listen to and enjoy this music. I can safely say that  my heart is in it. Maybe it will bring up some old memories for you too.

This set I played along my dear teacher and good friend Nicole Bongartz, whilst she was teaching her class „Crunchless Core“. The downbeat, tribal drum turned this core class into a very powerful one. Whether you use this to teach/practice a deep, focused, strengthening class or a smooth, relaxing flow it will surely serve both. It includes a solar plexus chakra (manipura chakra) meditation sound for the last 7min. 

This class is designed with approx. 75min, including savasana. Leaving enough time for opening/closing talk, breaks for demonstrations, silence for guided meditation etc.

The Opening event of the Yoga Conference is always very special and clearly a class of celebration to welcome all the students, teachers and to kick of into the fantastic weekend. Therefor its generally quite uplifting and since it normally an approx. 60min class, moves pretty quickly into warriors and standing positions, leading up to a peak point at around 45min, before going back to the ground with more subtle, beatless sounds and finishing of with savasana. The music is designed to serve this structure. 

Special notice: This music in these opening ceremonies tends to build up quicker as the class is shorter but also the time on the floor at the end is a little longer then usual.

This class is designed with approx. 75min, including savasana. Leaving enough time for talks, breaks for demonstrations, silence for guided meditation etc. It can also used for a 60min class as its calms down at around 45min already, no more beats after 52min.

Distant from the livesets I play in clubs, I here focus on music I listen to at home, music that gives me a lot of inspiration. In these mixtapes, I try to express my own ideas of musical exploration by layering and mixing sounds, textures, scenes, athmospheres & soundscapes. Playing with tension and relaxation. Unifying ambient, techno, electronic and experimental music.
