Wir schließen die Augen, lassen alles unwichtige von uns fallen und konzentrieren uns auf den Moment. Eile und Hast sind uns fremd und der Umstand lässt uns erahnen dass alles was noch geschehen wird, zeitlich und räumlich unbegrenzt ist.

'"As consistent as he is prolific, Reece Thomas Green has released close to a dozen full-length cassettes in less than a three-year period as Alocasia Garden, not to mention just as many short-form tapes across such renowned labels as Vanity Pill (his own); Audio. Visuals. Atmosphere; Perfect Aesthetics and Vienna Press to name just a few. 

A Double Life is Alocasia Garden's debut on Holy Geometry and could be his most intriguing and beautiful release yet. A short piano loop hypnotises on the tense and claustrophobic opener Mirror, while the piano returns again for the album's closing track Faces of a Quiet Land, albeit in a freer form; a sign of the artist expressing a greater sense of confidence in melody. 

But don't let this softer side fool you. The standout track, side B's opener Documenting the Decay of Language, builds steadily from a dark choral drone into a crescendo of feedback and high-frequency intensity before subsiding silently back into whatever black hole it came from. A masterpiece amongst a masterful album."

This was a live jam accompanied by the incredibly talented Suyana (@veerle-kumpen) performed for the beautiful people at Heart Culture Festival in Austria. None of this music was pre-arranged, I had groups of clips and created the arrangements out of those clips on the fly in response to the energy of the moment. The vibe was incredibly special, people really tuned in and offered us the opportunity to dive deep into experimentation and to let things flow effortlessly from the heart. These loops are parts of tracks I have also arranged and released.

"The pieces that comprise Nature Mirror were composed and recorded during late spring 2017, as the rice fields of Nagano were being filled with water and planted. After a long winter, this process is known as “waking up the fields”. 
These paddies surround my home area and are a common sight throughout Matsumoto. Punctuated by lines of rice stalks, the water is still and perfectly reflects the environment above and around. The four tracks on this album were greatly influenced by these flat mirrors of water and contain location recordings from these areas. Stillness, parallel lines and nature are represented in the music just as clouds and mountains are reflected in the flooded fields."
