…and the watcher was sitting at the edge of a hill. Only the sky was above him and the night was so near in that second.

No one knows how long he was sitting silently — a century. He was looking up to the sky. Just watching it, nothing more really. Not a thought, any thought.

His mind was calm and clean after all that noise he left behind. Never has anyone looked at the sky and never has the sky looked at anyone so lovingly before. He knew his glance was as an imprint on water, two lovers as one flesh and soul, and suddenly, the watcher’s temple started to shine. 

He felt lighting up all around him. A fleeting glimpse of the infinite sky was dancing in his mind, he heard music from far beyond, pulsing on its very end. The watcher stood up in the sky and followed the music of lighting. He was dancing too.

The watcher’s temple was drifting in the air, he became transparent and soft as a feather. Every feeling and sense in him and all around him was beating as the heartbeats. The sky was roaring and transcending.

The watcher had lost balance, as if he lost his own breath, and started to lift. The sky was pulling him over as a magnetic field, welcoming him home in the heart of its own self. 

He kissed the air, his transparent kiss embraced constellations and slowly melted into the divine silence and the nectar of sweet transformation was poured over him entirely. 

His temple, pulsating by the essence of heartbeat, disappeared into the transparent sphere of purest blazing flame. He had become as subtle as air — nourished by the distant lights and then he became a star surrounded by silence, gently sliding all over the night sky, and then he became the whole cosmos and the universe and…

Composed with shortwave, long wave and UHF and VLF field recordings in Burdujeni Sat, near Suceava, Romania during artistic residency at Zidul de Hartie. Special shout out to Dan Prodan, for the ancestral house and the apples. This excerpt is drawn from an iteration of the composition concept realized on the cusp of the Harvest Moon of 2025 in Poznan with additional spontaneous spectral audio and synthesizer which amounts to one full 69 minute piece which will be released by Akashic Records on Bandcamp some time next week after it is divided into smaller tracks. Enjoy the warp of our planet's space time continuum in the fun-house mirror of the ionosphere as bounced back through radio waves.

Alchemical

An organism glows
in this dark, dark room.
The light finds the cracks
in the walls

and stretches its languid arms
to enclose us, to hold us
against its vital pulse.
Tethered to a vibration

both familiar and unknown,
we are sent towards
a portal before
we are spit back into day—

kept close
until the night is done.
The heartbeat of the creature
then dissipates like cloud,

is alchemically transformed,
shifts shapes
like the shadow of fire
then finds its way

into our chests.
We carry our secrets
within them like lead,
lead that wants to be turned

into gold. It’s only a matter
of time before our chests
are unlocked.
When we open

each other up,
what’s underneath
spills out, and it is then
that we remember the pulse

never left – it only
hid itself beneath
our wrists, our lungs.
By the end we’ve lost the map

and know there’s no way back:
the person we were before
succumbs to the person
we’ve become.
