The music is nice but the panning of the violin and the cello are too wide and. I would suggest to hand the track to a good sound engineer.

Barbe à papa

Sur des chemins de cathédrales où les hommes s’égarent, je ne distingue plus que quelques corps…    livides.
Ma main est toute moite.
L’horloge a dû sonner…
Le coq ne chante plus. On lui a coupé les ailes pour qu’il ne puisse en rien gêner le voisinage.

Le canon a tonné du haut des citadelles, là où le son des cris se hume au creux des vagues.

Je serpente des tombes à deux doigts du massacre.
Ils ont bu du vin chaud venu de l’au-delà, et j’écrasais des dogmes de mes pieds de salaud.

NE SIGNEZ PAS ! JAMAIS SUR DES LIVRES DE MESSES !

Déconnectez les portes de ces maisons faciles où l’on vous donne à boire des relents de sagesse.
La sagesse ? Eh ! mon cul ! Ça se boit à minuit avec des camarades et quelques chats complices, muets comme des carpes, roulés dans leur pelisse.
Un vrai cadeau de Dieu ? Si Dieu il y a… sans voile et sans barbe à papa…

Enfin, je mets les voiles avec vous, mes seigneurs. Je débarquerai là, sous des portes cochères pour y nourrir le Diable de quelques salaisons à crever de plaisir, et de chaînes rouillées.
Vous, qui souffrez tout seuls. Non de non, camarades !

Cotton candy

On cathedral roads where men go astray, I can only make out a few bodies... livid.
My hand is all sweaty.
The clock must have struck...
The rooster has stopped crowing. His wings have been clipped so he can't disturb the neighbors.

The cannon has thundered from the top of the citadels, where the sound of cries can be heard in the hollow of the waves.

I snake from the graves to the slaughter.
They drank mulled wine from beyond, and I crushed dogmas with my bastard feet.

DO NOT SIGN! NEVER ON MASS BOOKS!

Unlock the doors of those easy houses where you're fed the whiff of wisdom.
Wisdom? Eh! my ass! It's drunk at midnight with comrades and a few accomplice cats, mute as carp, rolled up in their fur.
A true gift from God? If there is a God... with no veil and no cotton candy...

At last, I set sail with you, my lords. I'll disembark there, under the porte cochere, to feed the Devil a few salted meats to burst with pleasure, and rusty chains.
You, who suffer alone. No, no, comrades!

Barbe à papa (Jean-Paul Gaido-Daniel / Myckaël Marcovic)

Here's an old Scottish tune that used to be a sailors' song or barcarolle. It's now played as a lullaby or as a Slow March for the pipers. Due to some of the lyrics that are attached to it, the song can illustrate the escape of Bonnie Prince Charlie, the last of the Stewart's pretender, toward the isle of Skye, after the battle of Culloden (1746). As you may know, it is also the main theme of the TV Series “Outlander”.

Voici une ancienne mélodie écossaise qui était autrefois une chanson de marins ou une barcarolle. Elle est maintenant jouée comme une berceuse ou comme une Slow March pour les joueurs de cornemuse. En raison de certaines des paroles qui y sont attachées, la chanson peut illustrer la fuite de Bonnie Prince Charlie, le dernier des prétendants Stuart, vers l'île de Skye, après la bataille de Culloden (1746). Comme vous le savez peut-être, c'est aussi le thème principal de la série télévisée "Outlander".

Before a shamanic ceremony, it is the usual practice to make a prayer to the spirits of the four directions. This is my own version.

Shirley Ly is a self-taught British female contemporary classical music composer from Greenwich in London, United Kingdom, with Chinese and Vietnamese heritage. She has composed over 40 pieces for solo piano / violin / cello, duets, trios, quartets and quintets. She has produced 4 albums: 9 Lives (2023), Paradise (2023), Blossom (2021), and Impetus (2018) and released multiple singles i.e. Emerald (2023), and London Strive (2023). Her music has been played around a million times across more than 100 countries around the world spanning six continents, including by BBC radio, and is described to be a bridge between classical, romantic, and minimalist music with Eastern and jazz elements. She has performed her music across a variety of venues, including churches and halls, and will be performing in many more venues going forward in London and abroad. Shirley plays the piano in all of her pieces.

The pieces in her albums aim to capture her reflections on life experiences relating to nature (i.e., swallows' journeys to their nests, the seasons, swans), living in London, dance, relationships with family and other loved ones, travel (i.e. to Berlin, Amsterdam), and dreams. Paradise (2023) is inspired by her experiences of swimming, diving, sailing, and surfing in the ocean, and she hopes that her music can further emphasise its importance. 
 
9 Lives (2023) is inspired by the beauty, charm and mysteriousness of cats. She lives in London with her five cats, and gain a lot of inspiration from them. This album aims to raise money for animal charities in areas which need support the most.

She is currently working on classical and electronic music works inspired by her travels in Southeast Asia.
