Fight in the Fields are a talented six piece hip hop band from Victoria, Canada that blend strong musicianship, live instruments and skillful MCing. On “Control” the first part, of a three-part album, their rousing live show translates to reveal big hooks and scrutinizing rhymes. “Fight” tells the story of their west coast locale with a swing in their step, a chip on their shoulder, and the ability to rock a crowd while doing it. 

The opening track Groovemachine is a hooky swath of thought provoking politico, which begs to be put on repeat. Alternating acoustic and synth basslines keep the groove factor on high and an impressive piece is perfected by Genevieve Rainey’s addictive vocals. I already want to hear it again...repeat!

      Alex Franchini – (Lux Stiffmeister Remix ), is your go to…….. This is definitely something everyone wants to hear enroute to the club…….. in the club…….. and after the club!!!!  As the sun rises over the horizon and the additional vocal snippets and drum beats kick you in….. you are in your happy place!!!!  From the top of your lungs you scream…….. “ I will TRICK THAT!!!!!!”
     Alex Franchini – ( T. Orlando and Lori J. Ward Remix   aka “The Hi-Fi Princess” ) This time Teo and Lori take time away from their busy schedules running Flavorite, and producing their own original material, to bring us DEEP!!!  Both Teo and Lori have careers in the music industry spanning decades with over 300 releases on Flavorite.  THIS IS UNDERGROND MUSIC!!!!!  When it comes to knowing what the people want to hear……. these two are on point!!!  This mix brings you into the far reaches of your psyche, the sultry voice of Lori J. Ward squeezes your chest with that GOOD feeling!!!!! Teo brings the message with the bassline and the SPACE!!!! You wanna hear this track on a good soundsystem……. Your body will vibrate!!!!!
Overall this is a complete package for DJ’s and Tech Heads. This consists of 4 solid tracks in their own right and meant for their own distinct set times. It’s not too often you have the fortune of coming across that. 

Alex Franchini - Trick This (Lux Stiffmeister Remix)

The title track "Proggo" features is true to it's name being a progressive banger with an irresistible, low-slung bassline and big breathy reverbs.  Glitch and gated vocals ramp up the emotion while beauty chords come in to make for an epic breakdown.  Proggo's pounding percussion makes it perfect for that 1AM-3AM slot when everybody is ready to put their hands in the air, and lose their stuff!&#13;<br /><br />On the B-Side "Feeling Infinite" takes you on a journey from it's string filled intro to a deeper progressive number.  The main breakdown features swirling synths breaking into a rhythmic, gated arp.  This is feel good music. &#13;<br /><br />On the remix, Livecat7 brings his own Electrohouse take on "Proggo" with a techier vibe.  This is great stuff for the club, as the anticipation builds and builds before riding that simple, but very effective bass.

Dope As Fuck!

Hi there, I am DJ Christoph Maitland and this is my latest mix showcasing the sounds I have been playing at clubs, like my "House Music" series at Lucky Bar, and at events like the VEMF Reunion.  This is music made for the dance floor, because in a club setting my goal is to get you shaking your butt.  Things start off funky enough, with funky and disco flavours with G-House Vox.  There is a ton of delectable bass lines.  The mix continues to evolve into some darker garage bass lines and floor fillerz.  So much passion went into this mix, I hope you enjoy it! The Wiggle

Playing music on New Years Day is always one of my favourite sets of the year.  We've all put the old year to bed and come together to share in the coming years rich potential.  Over time, I've found that the sets that resonate are the ones that riff on classics, are rich with soul, that are just all the way down funky.  Comfort music.  Feel good music.  
 Accessible, but done right, hits for the heads as well.  I nabbed this recording from a set that I did not think was going to happen.  2020 was a rough year.  I hadn't performed since August as pandemic lockdowns had curtailed 99% of live music.  So I really wanted to catch the feels right.  Glad I captured this.  Hope you enjoy.
