This song was inspired by Irving Berlin's classic 1926 jazz standard, "Blue Skies."   Except "Blue Skies and Happiness" is sort of the other side of the coin - sometimes the outlook is grey skies....

A heartbreaking, small ambient pop-pearl, transcendent and true.

There have been many incarnations of SICKER MAN throughout the past 20 years. He went from experimental electronica to shoegaze pop to free noise improvisations. But there have always been two constants in his work. One is his quest for new and unique music, no matter the genre. And the second is the electric cello, which is his main tool of his artistic journey for 20 years now. Massive drones are mixed with distorted beats and shoegaze melodies. The Bug meets Arthur Russell meets Peter Brötzmann.
