Summer Solstice marks the longest day in the year, and is surrounded by many rituals from the ancient Celts and Pagan folklore. One such event highlights the contrast between fire and water; land and sky. Pagan families would light a large wheel on fire and roll it into the water to represent the sun being at it's brightest just before it begins to weaken. This ceremony is called "Litha"

Our album "Solstice" mirrors this concept of Litha, containing light, carefree, and energetic tracks (fire) against deep, emotive, sweeping soundscapes(water). The back and forth of these two alternating ideas captures the moment that is the peak of summer. This serves to remind us that Solstice is a fleeting time to be enjoyed and even cherished, before the transition into a colder time where many people will spend their days sheltered inside their homes.
