Apollo welcomes the return of Sieren

Matthias Frick AKA Sieren returns to Apollo with his most personal EP to date.

The ‘Fading Memory EP’ showcases Frick’s blissed out post bass atmospherics as they delve deep into bittersweet emotions and dissolving memories.

’Move On’ opens the release, with cycling plagent pads, are counterpointed by dark bass and bumping percussion, ‘In Limbo’ introduces nervous unease through swelling side chained 2-step drums hissing ambiance and crystalline pads. ‘Break Sum 1’ provides the EP’s most heartfelt moment, yearning vocals and an uplifting melodic synth figure glisten with light for a beautiful soundscape. ‘Two Faces’ keeps the mood reflective with ‘verb drenched pads punctured by skittering, playful drum programming. ‘Dissolve’ rounds out the EP in similarly emotive territory, angelic yet melancholic and cycling female vocals.

This is richly textured and intricately programmed electronica sure to satisfy fans of Burial, dBridge, Synkro with its soulful sincerity and warmth.

New EP "Inner Jungle" is out now!

Wicked Expectation are a mix between electronic/downtempo and IDM.

Band was formed in 2012 and published its debut album 'Visions' in 2015 that was played live across Italy and Switzerland.

‘Visions’ concept is about the relationship between human, nature and technology: a restless and schizophrenic coexistence that might generates great innovations and catastrophes at the same time.
'Visions' was launched together with 'News' videoclip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JvG6jxjCFw).
'Visions' was self-produced by the band and recorded at 'Manifatture Musicali' studio (https://manifatturemusicali.com/).

The sound research and new instrumental set-up pushed the band to create new songs included into the new album 'Folding Parasite'.

The new songs have a massive use of synthesizers and samples, with less guitars and acoustic drums compared to the previous album. Groove is often a combination of Bass, Synth Bass and Drum Machines.
The album tour let the band play across Italy, Switzerland, France and Belgium.
'Folding Parasite' was launched by 'Seriously Laughing' single (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQHhSEQ1NqA) and was recorded, produced and mixed by the band. The album was published on March, 10th 2017.

On April 2019 the band released 'Echoes' which represent a step further into Wicked Expectation production process. The sound is even more electronic and abstract with downtempo rhythms, allowing the band to play also dj sets. 
'Echoes' is a four tracks EP, self-produced by the band and mixed/mastered by Jo Ferliga at 'Tapewave Mastering' studio (https://soundcloud.com/tapewavemastering). It was published under 'Doubledoubleu' independent label (http://www.doubledoubleu.net/).

On June 2020 Wicked Expectation's new EP "Emotional Control" came out. It’s a two tracks EP which combines IDM and Broken-beat genres, surrounded by atmospheric grooves that create an immersive sound for the listener. Inspired by clubbing culture, the essence of Emotional Control is reflected by the two tracks that differs a lot from each other. The EP has been recorded during COVID-19 lockdown: it expresses the need of escapism with a melancholic feeling that embraces the two tracks. The EP has been published by "Sideshape Recordings" (https://soundcloud.com/sideshape).

On March 2021 Wicked Expectation released a new single: “Beat Around The Bush” which represents a step further into Wicked Expectation’s journey, alongside with Sideshape Recordings label (https://soundcloud.com/sideshape). An UK Garage beat combined with layers of synths and percussive bass line. Upon all this, melodic vocals which embrace the whole track. This new track comes out after a dark winter, hitting like a punch on your face, redefining concepts right on time before they break apart. Put your headphones, press play, dance and sing it out loud. It might be hard to realize, but there’s no need to tell a lie in this story. Just hold on and beat around the bush.

On September 2022 Wicked Expectation released new track "Moving Clockwise".

New track "By The Air" was released on December 2022.

On May 30th 2023, "Inner Jungle" EP has been released by Wicked Expectation under Sideshape Recordings Label.

How do you sound today?
Have you ever thought that we can sound differently depending on our physical and emotional state? We merge with music, we become music, but we are not a whole piece, we are a note. I am a note in the piece of music. But, if I'm a note, what is a piece? Whole life? If we assume the possibility of reincarnation, then each new life is a new piece of music? Or maybe each new piece is a different life situation? However, it does not matter. In each piece, we, like notes, play a different meaning, even if we produce the same sound. Much depends on our environment: somewhere we stand out, somewhere we get lost and we are not heard at all. Perhaps it is important to create a silence around you, surround yourself with a few notes as possible in order to hear yourself, to hear how you sound. Moreover, by creating a silence around us, you can hear a note that sounds beautiful to you. A note that complements you, and you complement it. You sound beautiful together. You become not just a note, but together you become music, a piece of music. So, how do you sound today?
