A sequence of rhythmic patterns is performed on top of a continuous beat. Splash of Colors creates continuous movement between tension and rest that each listener will experience differently depending on the focus of their attention. 


For Percussion (Congas, Tambourine, Crotale, Cowbells, Bongos) and Electronic percussion (Logic Pro Patch provided, can be performed by MIDI keyboard by a pianist)

Hues Of Life is a song which is BOTH, my hard work and God's grace. I thank the creator OF MY LIFE, for helping me to come up with this theme, this melody, which I believe that you will surely love.

아기펭귄의 발소리와, 모험에서 느껴지는
행복함이 느껴지는 곡 입니다!

Ladybug In The Room

Phone Call was written to tell a story that almost all people can relate to -- an annoying phone call to the bank. In this piece, a simple phone call quickly turns frustrating after questions are not answered and the
the caller is continuously redirected.

This piece brings an irritating phone call to life through comic yet angry-sounding conversations between instruments. The beginning of the piece starts with the sound of a ringing phone, followed by a dial tone that can be heard in the alto saxophones. The caller behind the dial tone is eager to solve the problem they have encountered and wants it solved quickly. A bank employee answers and the caller and employee engage in friendly dialogue. Unfortunately, the employee is unable to help. The call is redirected to another department, and the caller is put on hold until they speak with another employee.

Slightly annoyed, the caller has to explain the situation a second time. The two try to troubleshoot the problem but are unable to solve it. The caller then has to be redirected for the third time and is forced to listen to happy background music while on hold. The caller feels far from happy and is frustrated and angry.

Another representative answers the phone but is unable to fix the problem, and the piece climaxes as the two yell at each other. The conversation comes to an abrupt stop as the caller hears a waiting tone.
Confused, the caller asks if the representative is still there. The representative then asks the caller to restart the bank app which solves the problem. The piece ends whimsically as the problem is solved with
a solution that is as simple as restarting an app.

Phone Call (To a Bank) for Wind Ensemble

SiHyun Uhm is a composer, pianist, and multimedia producer currently based in New York and South Korea. Her works have been commissioned by US AirForce Academy Band, YAMAHA, Rice University(Sviatoslav Richter Fund), Columbia Digital Audio Festival, Five by Five Ensemble, Josun Palace Hotel Pilates Series, and Enhakē Ensemble. She is a Composer Fellow with American Composers Orchestra, Really Spicy Opera, Nashville Symphony Composer Lab, Universal Artists Festival, Daegu MBC Orchestra, Intimacy of Creativity, Red Note Workshop, and has received prizes from President’s Own Marine Band, Luna Nova, JMI, Korean Wind Ensemble, Pyeong Chang Olympic Celebration, Howard Hanson Orchestral Prize, Louis Lane Prize, Leopold Auer, Future Symphony, NY Composers’ Circle, Next Notes, National YoungArts, Golden Key Festival, Avalon, and MTNA.

Her distinctive and interactive musical style is recognizable to audiences, and since the release of her first album in 2017, the listenership of her music has continued to grow. She not only works as an audio engineer but also as an active pianist and accompanist. She also is an established producer/arranger in many different genres (electronics, pop, rock, film/game music) and an electronic music enthusiast making music with launchpad in her free time. 

She is currently attending The Juilliard School studying with Prof. Beaser. She recently graduated from the Eastman School of Music in NY, studying with Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon, David Liptak, Carlos Sanchez-Gutierrez, and Vincent Lenti. She graduated from Walnut Hill School for the Arts in MA, where she studied composition with Whitman Brown and piano with Mana Tokuno from New England Conservatory. SiHyun was born in Seoul, Korea, where she went to Yewon School.
