War On The Insane Blades Of Thunder

It's almost 10 years since I've made my debut at Defqon.1 Festival, and I've had the honor to play every year and many different stages since. It all started at the BLUE tent, mind you back then this one was not all about raw yet! An awesome place to showcase my alternative take on hardstyle, with loads of driving basslines and lovely melodies. Super interesting to notice how I really had my own unique sound at that point, and also how slow the mixing is LOL. My standards have changed ;)

When the Q-dance soundcloud got taken down a few years ago, this set got lost - but I just found the file on my hard drive! Love to share the memories with you all, a decade later. Here's the re-upload, and see you all at Defqon.1 this year!

Coming out of the Hardcore period in the nineties, Silvio Aquila (Arend Hebers) started listening to (hard)trance, hardhouse, techno. But then he discovered Hardstyle, thanks to a classmate who owned the ID&T presents: Lady Dana. This cd opened up his eyes to a new sound, more dark and harder than other genres in dance-music he listened to.

Silvio Aquila started mixing in 2003 in a local youth centre on the holy Technics turntables.

In 2006 he was asked to join a dj team consisting of 4 dj's & 1 mc, thanks to this he got a chance to present himself to the 'outside world' and play on nice party's with names like: Syro, Bobby V, Trilok & Chiren, Luna & more... Unfortunately this dj-team decided to split up and everybody went their way in 2007...
Silvio 'explored' more places in the north of the Netherlands and slowly build his reputation up. In 2008 he became a resident dj of the well-known online Harder Styles radio FearFM. Because of his big love for the early days in the Hardstyle scene, Silvio got a status of Mr. Early Hardstyle on FearFM. Nowadays people even call him Mr. Early Hardstyle of the North, in the Netherlands... Asked for (early) Hardstyle party's like Hardclassics, Back2school & more...

These days Silvio Aquila still performs, on more party's then before! From Brabant to Amsterdam and of course a lot of gigs in the northern regions. Playing the new sounds of the Hardstyle scene and enjoying it! And still frequently asked for doing an Early Hardstyle set across the land.
