Bob's Disco plays an eclectic mix of everyone's records from the last 50 years or so. Striving to play something different, not for the sake of it, but because of it. Joining the dots between Soul, Hip Hop, Disco and House.........

Ey Up Arkid! (Hello Everyone!)
im Joe Newbon, born 1998 - From Stoke On Trent, England. Here's my story so far; 
I have been playing guitar for approximately 7 years? And been singing since a young kid! :D also play Rockabilly Slap Bass, Bass Guitar & Drums. 
From a kid, ive been brought up with music straight through from as early as the 20's and 30's with Ragtime/Jazz and early blues. Swing, Rockabilly, Rock, Soul, Pop and Straight through to Today's music! .. BUT .. the main music in my life, and the music i connect with and have a real passion for is 1950's Rockabilly/Rock n Roll and R&B. 

Since the age of 11 i started to understand that behind 3 or 4 chord and 12-bar blues, there was a lot more to be heard. The likes of Scotty Moore, Cliff Gallup, Grady Martin and Eddie Cochran really opened my eyes after my Dad saying to me 'No, listen really carefully and hear what they are actually playing because your playing it wrong'. So i picked up my guitar, got the Rockin' Twang but 5 years later i am still discovering things in certain tracks (Especially in Cliff Gallup's Playing) that i didn't hear for the past 5 years of listening to it. 

I have been playing in bands for a few years now doing my Rockabilly style, as well as doing session playing and other styles of music across the board. I had the amazing oppetrunity at the age of 12 to meet and jam with ORIANTHI (M.J's Guitarist from This Is It)at London Universal Studios! I have recently completed a UK Theatre Tour, recreating Elvis Presley's Aloha From Hawaii concert. Elvis Played by Gordon Hendricks, The worlds best Elvis 2014. I was in a 22 peice band, playing the roll of John Wilkinson! (yes, i had to have a mustache and a 70's Hair cut!) and have gained lots of experience and just keep learning more and more from the other musicians around me. I am currently starting up a new Band consiting of Myself, Slap bass, and Drums (aged 16, and 18)and play the 50's style but with a lot more Grit and Dirt to attract the Young Audience! SO KEEP A LOOK OUT! :D

I go to college and take a full time Music Tech & Performance course. full of musicians into all sorts! its so great to meet new people into great music, and im learning a lot from them also! guys into things from Django Reinhardt, Classical, Soul, Rock. a great variety of everything! 

I've always Wanted to song write! and now is a great time for me to start, i will be putting them on here when they are recorded :D so let me know what you think!
