MCFADED 2023 Promo Mix

I had to opportunity to play the first music of the weekend for Sonic Bloom as gates opened. Thank you to the Box Office for the renegade style opening ceremony. 
The intention of this set is to make people feel empowered and connected before they embark on a psychedelic journey.
My goal was to bless people with affirmations of safety as they drive through the gates into their temporary festival home for the weekend.
 
Our words can change reality, we can speak things into existence.
Life imitates art. We have the ability to change the world through the things we consume and create. (no duh)

Festivals can offer extreme healing by connecting with the elements, long distance friends, and ourselves. But also extremely destructive. Much like the psychedelic substances these festivals foster, these event spaces are extremely volatile, and can provide focus on both the best and worst. 

To provide a space for people to safely explore their spirituality is another goal of mine.

Sound and movement are directly connected to the interworking of our reality. From the structure and patterns of nature, to the animals that inhabit the space. The breath and rhythm of music is everywhere. 

Music is extremely powerful.
Every song is spell
Every Dj is a shaman
Every set is a ritual
On a journey we embark through sound and other stimuli, we give our focus and energy to follow the dj for a short time. 

We used to gather for festivals as well as other daily rituals. 
Our bon-fires have turned to LED stages, but we still gather to dance at modern festivals much like ancestors.

The dance floor is a sacred place
Music can be healing

Im on a quest to bring tradition back to the festival scene while moving forward and building new traditions.
Provide substance education and harm reduction.
Provide spaces to facilitate growth and healing
