We return to watch the 1998 coming of age film 'SLC Punk!'. We discuss the origins of punk music, do our best to figure out what a 'Mod' is and theorize what 'New Wave' music might have been. Plus Simon learns what the Mormon attitude toward liquor is, Michael misidentifies Jamie Kennedy and Mariah gives us her advice on the don'ts of acid use. We had lots of fun recording this one..but how did we feel about the movie itself? Only one way to find out. Special thanks to the dogs for not fighting on mic this time. Well it was inevitable. It took five episodes but Simon finally picked a western and his dad, Art, joins the podcast to talk about his experience seeing this movie when it was first released. We also talk horses, old time movie stunts and my dad's trip to Jamaica in 1972. This episode ended up dealing with more racial issues than I was expecting but I suppose that's what we should have expected from a 1960 film where a German plays a Mexican gun fighter named "Chico". Mariah suffered from a sore throat for this show but Michael reads out her notes for the entertainment of all.
