Keep Calm...

This is a demo of the very good sounding Hammond B3 clone called HX 3. You get short snippets of different styles (Blues, Ballad, Rock, Reggae). The Demo is played live at once, so you might here some mistakes ;-)

The audio is taken out mono from the selfmade Organ HX 3 (build by Ernst Lengersdorf) into a Reußenzehn Organ & Groove-Preamp followed by the Neo Ventilator Leslie emulation and recorded into Cubase. That's it!

Easy:
A cover of Faith No More's cover of the Commodore's version...

Seit Jahren dachte ich daran, diese Cover-Version aufzunehmen. Und ich überlegte immer, wie ich das Solo einbaue, wie drums, bass, guitars, pianos, brass klingen sollten -- bis ich mich dann für diese abgespeckte Version entschied, zu der mir Sascha mir ein großartiges E-Gitarren-Solo beisteuerte, ein kreativ eigenes, nicht nur das Original nachgespielt. Ich freu' mich.  ;-)

He did his part in about 10 minutes, while I was shifting and trying again for hours, if not months or even years, ha!  ;-)

So, here it is:
... Finally my cover-version is kind-of-in-shape...

- Piano recorded mostly in one session
- Sascha in Corona-mode via e-Mail
- Background choir with 9 similarly nice and positive singers hired by me ;-)

Well, in the end I had to laugh but -after remembering chatting with Mother Mary-  I thought "let it be" as it is  ;-)

But now I'm happy that it's ready.  ;-)

... So, I thought why not make a cover-version of Take On Me?!

Recorded with some real instruments:
- snare drum with brushes
- clapping, snapping and --of course-- singing!
- tamburine, triangle
- shakers, cabasa, samba bell, guiro, woodblock
- a little bit of the guitars
- lovely melodica

instruments played via keyboard and plugins (Native Instruments):
- keyboards ;-)
- that Rickenbacker bass sound, I like very much (NI)
- brass melody
- many guitars
- drums in chorus and bridges

I wonder what the owls might think about that...   ;-)

By the way..., if you find bass-lines/drum-pattern/synth-part that relate to other songs, you'll get one chance to ask the owls (see picture) about foretelling your future! (It should be 4 songs all in all; the synth is absolutely the easiest, he he... ;-)

umso mehr freue ich mich über meine Cover-Version und hoffe, Euch gefällt sie auch so gut!  :-)

- Guiro, div. Orff-Instrumentarium wie Holzblock, Triangel

- manche Gitarren
- Schellenkranz, verträumt-naive Melodica

über Keyboard und Computer eingespielte Instrumente:
- Keyboards ... ;-)
- dieser coole Rickenbacker Bass Sound  (Native Instruments  :-)
- Bläser
- automatische und nicht automatische Gitarrenspuren
- Schlagzeugspuren im Refrain und den Bridges
