Welcome back to The Chapel.

Introduction:
For Episode 022 we have quite the bite ahead, as we dive into the sub-world of Electro music and what makes this genre such a staple to this day. I will resurface some of the Electro greats including: Soulwax, Digitalism, Mumbai Science, The Bloody Beetroots, and Proxy. 

Genre Characteristics: 
The significance of this genre is built into its characteristics. Born of funk, hip-hop, disco, and synth-pop, Electro typically makes heavy use of sine waves, offbeat rhythms, and a relatively fast tempo. Electro is typically faster than House music and features more aggressive basslines. This aggressive nature is emphasized by the distorted/industrial drum, particularly the iconic Roland TR-808. The tapping beats, handclaps/clicks, and keyboard basslines of this genre provides its strong hold on the scene since the 1980s.
