Lithuanian artist and musician Matas Gancevičius was surrounded by the sounds of legendary composer M. K. Čiurlionis since childhood. Classical music, its harmonies and orchestral sounds shaped his musical taste long before he discovered electronic music. His work hasn't gone unnoticed - after a gig at the prestigious club "Lizdas" in Kaunas, he went on a joyride through the Lithuanian music scene.

Besides constantly digging record stores and making music almost every day, he and friends founded the Art Cue movement, which aims to raise awareness among partygoers and ravers.

Hear what's called mantric and abrupt. Vocal experiences that hypnotize. Unexpected rhythms and psychedelic sounds packed with high frequencies and natural tones. Legendary sequencers and rhythms that push the energy up.

@listentosafetalk are a new Anglo-French trio who mix electronica, pop and psychedelia, and released their debut single and "cosmic hymn" 'Universal' back in March. On Friday they're releasing three great remixes of that track, and we're premiering one from UK acid dons @posthuman.

While the original track is a gorgeous little pop nugget - imagine a heady blend of Simple Minds, Future Islands and Tame Impala - Posthuman have gone for broke and turned it into a 10-minute acid trance epic. Their remix kicks off with frighteningly efficient piston-like drums before lowering down a screen of floaty, sci-fi synths. Somehow it calls to mind the Mars rover, cutting a lonely, trundling figure across the Red Planet. The second half is more combustible when the gurgling acid kicks in, providing a counterpoint to the affected, pop-ready vocals.

Years of sweating in garage bands evidently prepared the Lipsky brothers to break boundaries in commercial club culture with a sound that somehow evokes the essence of psych-rock while never sounding out of place alongside certified technoid bangers.

Their musical breadth as producers speaks to their talent as DJs, with a deep passion for record digging that again conveys very specific sensibilities – a love for the exotic, the yearning for transcendence, as well as the rough rebellious energy of punk. They produce dance music from the margins, full of with narrative, melody, and drama. It’s intense, in a good way.* 

Their affiliations to broad-spectrum labels like Multi Culti, Disco Halal and Correspondant might paint some picture of their range, and their stellar remixes for artists like Nicola Cruz, Adam Port, Autarkic and Polo & Pan may have earned them lots of plays,  but their debut LP ‘Sorry, We Did Something Wrong’ is undoubtedly their most ambitious and elaborate statement to date. Drenched in their influences, rich in collabs with a range of artists like Sepultura’s Igor Cavalera and C.A.R., the record is at once ambitious and, as the title suggests, apologetic. Their capacity for embracing these polarities, a radical boldness tempered by self-consciousness, it may divide the audience, but it shows unmistakable personality.

Simple Symmetry returnes to Multi Culti with an epic, mournful EP called “Problem,” featuring a huge remix by long-time compatriots Red Axes. Another huge edit for CULTED is on deck, as well as a peak-time rework of Drugface, following up on their massive mix of ‘In the Clouds.’
