This show follows us, sisters Becky J and MJ of $IRENS NYC, along on our dating escapades around NYC. In an attempt to reclaim the word HOE, we normalize societal stigmas associated with female sexuality by creating a sex positive environment full of real, relatable, and sometimes raunchy stories of women of color. Each week listeners get an insight into our harsh realities of dating, coupled with witty banter and social commentary.

Mercedes Barnes, better known as Merc The Big Body Benz (formerly known as Young Merc) is a wicked warrior emcee from Jamaica, Queens. After watching her older cousin write and spit rhymes, Merc decided to write her first verse at the age of ten. That was the birth of Young Merc.

It wasn't until the age of 20 that she released her first mixtape on Reverbnation entitled: "The Big Body Benz Mixtape" under the name of Young Merc, New Years of 2010. 
In February of 2014 Merc reintroduced herself to the rap game under the new name  "Merc The Big Body Benz" and was invited to perform with a good friend and colleague, Path P, and naturally she fell in love with the stage. Her first solo performance was at Lit Lounge in April of 2014, and while tearing down show after show she and her husband welcomed a son in November of that same year. Since then she has performed at venues such as R Bar, Revolution Bar, Hail Hail Bar, The Paperbox, The Back Drop, Gold Sounds, and The Bishop Gallery to name a few. 
On July 25, 2016, Merc released a free EP entitled "Belated Arrival" on her birthday, signifying the long wait for her music is over. "Belated Arrival" has received praise and critical acclaim for her lyrical abilities and creativity. "Belated Arrival" 
is currently available for download at Mercthebigbodybenz.bandcamp.com.

In August of 2016, Merc created the "Big Body Bars" Performance Series, a group of Hip Hop concerts she put together to provide an opportunity for other lyricists to showcase their art and talent. In between performing her current EP and hosting her concert series, Merc is working on her upcoming album, "Femininity Weaponized" as well as two collaborative albums, one of which will be an entirely acoustic project. While it may have been a belated arrival...Merc has definitely arrived.

KHENNEDY Is a 23-year-old, New Jersey-bred rap artist, songwriter, and singer. 



KHENNEDY first dabbled in rap at the age of 14. Growing up in a household where hip-hop music played non-stop and coming from a family of musicians.  Her inspiration to participate in the genre came at no suprise, it was almost hereditary.    



 KHENNEDY  decided to take rap seriously in late 2015 and has been making her way through the underground scene since. She gained recognition with a song entitled "California Love."  A story about a typical day living in Cali, painting a vivid picture to a nostalgic Stevie Wonder sample. This track along with KHENNEDY's energy opened up opportunities for her to be featured in SUEDED Magazine based in California. And earning an opportunity to perform  at The DazeSummit Festival on the SWAGGI3 stage Hosted by BET's Ivy Rivera. 



KHENNEDY's sound and lyrical skill and development will be more than apparent with her first EP.  Slated for a 2018 October release, 'Nothin Yet' will give you exactly what the title suggests.  This project is incomparable to anything currently existing in the market. KHENNEDY's artistry and skills are only going to get better as she continues to experiment and master her craft. 



KHENNEDY is definitely the one to watch.

The core of The Pink Tacos is formed on the dynamic songwriting chemistry that exists between Hannah Rose and Andy C, formerly of Indigo. (indigonyc.bandcamp.com) The duo compose, perform, and produce all their own music with the help of an ever growing network of musicians and friends. Think the raw energy of a thunderstorm combined with an ethereal element that could possibly best be described as imaginary colors.
