A label to always keep your eye on for the best in UK Garage is South London/Limited Pressings. South Limited Pressings 002 sees DJ Crisps welcomed back on the imprint, his remix of 'Trick Me' is EXACTLY what we want from UKG track.

Samba & Chokez - Ghastly (Kloudmen Remix)
Encrypted Audio does it again! Another fantastic release. The sour taste left in my mouth after missing out on the original Ghastly press has faded (for now).

Ome - Better Stay Home 
Ome has been climbing the ranks in the Dubstep leader board swiftly. Little over a year since his release with Simply Deep Ome has secured a spot on DUPLOC's latest Vinyl venture: 140 Allstars Vol 1.

Duckem - U Won't Know
When our favourite artists and labels combine we truly have something special. This release from Duckem is magical.

Burial, Four Tet, Thom Yorke - His Rope
This release came out December last year but it's still worth a mention. Every release from this trio is nothing short of a masterpiece. I am satisfied I can finally hold the wax treatment of this release in my hands.

Lakewest - Blood Orange
Formally known as 'Woz' Lakewest lands with his self-released debut EP. A deeper and darker route than his previous alias but equally as well received.

Joedan - Double Tap
Pondlife Party are back with another super limited vinyl run alongside a digital release. Our favourite was this merky number from Joedan

Mungk - Bazaar
Mungk - A name not long back was known by few but it's now a name that any 140BPM enthusiast should be familiar with - This is a cut from his forthcoming album with Duploc

Kami-O - Avaaas
Kami-O may be a relatively new artist to some listeners but not to us. We've been watching this talent from Glasgow grow for a number of years, we're extremely happy to see he's getting some of the recognition that he deserves

He stared at the wall, his intense gaze affixed on the flaking paint that revealed the chalky plaster beneath. He'd spent the morning trying to process the events that had unfolded, trying to draw his own you conclusions: but perhaps that wasn't healthy — what you don't know can't hurt you, right? What he did know was that he'd been living a lie; that there was something deeper going on under the surface; that you might think you know someone, but there's a chance you don't...

Known for his productions under the moniker Woz, and releases for Black Butter Records, Materials and Lobster Boy, Bristol-based producer Ashley Westlake has now shed that name in favour of a new guise: Lakewest. His first release, 'Blood Orange', gives him free reign to express this new guise, seeing him create three hardware club tools that match crisp percussion, intricate sound design and warm low end.

Holidays on secluded beaches; long hikes up a mountain to catch the sunset; an unforgettable meal at a restaurant on the square: her preferred means of escaping reality had become impossible over the last year. Now she relied on her imagination to whisk her away. She closed her eyes and pictured herself somewhere free from the pressures of daily life; the waves gently lapping at her feet, the wind rustling her hair and the sun streaming down on her face.

For his debut release on Loose Fit Records, Leipzig-based producer Planetary Secrets explores themes of escapism, translating his personal take on what escaping reality means to him. Conjuring up fantastical feelings of nostalgia and imagined worlds throughout, the opener, 90s rave-inspired 'Guatemala Dreams', transports listeners into dense jungle, while B-side, 'Burning Fist', is a love letter to vintage video games, specifically Tekken. These two original cuts are backed up by remixes from Lobster Theremin affiliate Pépe and Breaka Recordings boss, Breaka.

Throwing Snow’s fourth album is the audiovisually-augmented Dragons, a work that occupies the space between science and ancestral wisdom. It links music back to its prehistoric capacity for transmitting knowledge to new technology that can untangle the complexity of the contemporary world. Dragons’ ten tracks of heavy primal rhythmic productions incorporate the physicality of acoustic sources, from ancient ritual instruments to modern drum kit, and each track is accompanied by visuals generated by a neural network.

As is typical for Tones’ Throwing Snow project, the album contains a bold and eclectic mix of instruments, from a bodhrán and daf to cello, with their uses rooted in their inherent acoustic properties. Tones also essentially built his own sample pack for the percussion patterns, working with drummer Jack Baker (Bonobo, Kelis, Alice Russell, Planet Battagon) on an intensive two-day session.

"With the basslines of his hugely well-received Kuji EP still shaking speakers and delighting fans alike, producer Mungk and DUPLOC join forces once again for 'Temple of Mungk', the Leeds-based artist’s debut album and the second instalment of DUPLOC’s new DUPLOC ROYALS album series.

A true concept project, it follows the narrative of a monk who, after questioning his faith, embarks on an epic journey of rediscovery. Starting in his homeland of China he travels through India and onto the Middle East before landing in Egypt, moving southward through Africa before then sailing home to Asia across the sea, vividly brought to life through Mungk’s inspired use of sampling of traditional instrumentation and field recordings from each country he passes through.

Crafted over the course of 17 tracks, 6 of which specifically selected for a vinyl sampler, this is an astonishingly accomplished body of work and one which showcases Mungk’s undeniably gifted talent of building a rich & cinematic aesthetic through his mesmerising tapestry of sonics, intertwined with soundsystem culture and meditative low end, creating something culturally diverse yet still within the ‘140’ mindset."

"Parisian producer Fluid Matter (Fka Soft Matter) has joined the Simply Deep family for their 32nd EP release and their final Digital Only release for some time. Back in 2019 when Aerotonin visited Paris he saw firsthand all the musical talent that was harbored, artists such as Flore, Alt, Fechos, Background, SNKLS and the man in question Fluid Matter. It became clear that a release was in order.

Fluid Matter’s style is hard to pinpoint, it lies somewhere between Techno, Breaks, Dubstep and the UK 130BPM sound we always struggle so hard to cohesively title. Blending these various genres between 126 and 137BPM region Fluid Matter emerges with his own dark twist on Bass Music.

‘Loss’ features addictive Synth work alongside rolling percussion panned to perfection, ‘Dance With Demons’ focuses on cut-up breaks, stabbing bass notes and twinkling keys, similar to what you would expect from Tessela or Special Request with a more minimalistic approach. We arrive at ‘Midnight Dip’ which subtly takes different approach with more UK Funky influence but still on a dark flex. We finish the release with a remix from another Paris resident Solma, his acid-like reimagining of ‘Midnight Dip’ is a solid 10/10, Solma adds new layers of tension and texture to the track without losing Fluid Matter’s original vision.

It is a pleasure to host this EP from Fluid Matter, truly he is such a creative individual worthy of your attention – one of the many talents lurking in Paris.

Originally this EP was destined for Blackfox Records but tragically Lorant the head of the label had passed away, Lorant had a keen ear for musical talent, he was always enthusiastic about upcoming releases and a pleasure to talk to. We hope we can give this EP as much love as he would have, sending all our love and thoughts to his family and friends."

After the Huge success of of ENV015 testament to Samba & Chokez and the work rate they put in to have the who's who of the 140 spectrum play their music we all where gifted with the tease and promise of Remixes.

Besides there being multiple vocal edits featuring the likes of Rocks Foe and Logan Olm it was becoming increasingly likely this remix release was not going to see the light of day.
After much discussion and many a tease of what might be on this release we made the right choice to pull the front runners in EA's very own Kloudmen and Germany's very own Bukez.

Both sides take the original and add the respective remix artists signature sounds and cuts and turn it into nothing short of wondrous bass goodness. I am not a wordsmith with the required calibre nor grasp of the language to put into words how natty this release is.
