Back at our mammoth Stay True Scotland broadcast earlier this month, one track came real close to bringing The Caves' roof down during Nina Kraviz's powerhouse headline set. "I Wanna Go Bang" very nearly executed its titular statement – well, if the song was more about wrecking balls and less about...oh, never mind.

The vocals that stalk the track, so wholly devoid of humanity, rub up against razor-sharp claps and serious bounce in the subs. It's weighty warehouse techno of the highest order, set to devastate dark basements and big tents alike throughout the year. Simply put: Icelandic producer Bjarki has delivered a bomb.

Fresh from remixing Foreign Guest’s recent single ‘Rek’ for Berlin’s Crossfrontier Audio, London-based producer Rashid Ajami is proud to present his inaugural EP for Noir Music ahead of its release on September 25th. ‘Night Prayer’ ft. JAW - complete with two remixes from Parisian trio dOP - taps into the distinctive, deeply-resonant sound that first saw Ajami catch the attention of influential tastemakers Anjunadeep back in early 2013. 

Centred around a deep, peak-time groove, ‘Night Prayer’ first and foremost exhibits Ajami’s flair for writing song-based music. Gentle, percussive layers and short bursts of melody provide the perfect foil for JAW’s hazy, dream-like vocal flow to take centre stage to lucidly mesmeric effect. Beautifully balanced and squarely aimed at the dance floor, it’s abstract, prayer-like composition also means it has legs away from the club too, reinforcing Ajami’s ability to produce records that connect in both different ways and crucially, spaces.

Backed up by a pair of remixes from revered beatmakers dOP - one a deeper, tech-leaning vocal rework and the other a stomping, melody-laced instrumental dub - ‘Night Prayer’ represents some of Rashid Ajami’s best work yet, adding to a growing discography that already includes releases on Anjunadeep, Cajual, Kittball and Armada.

As we promised, Ellen Allien is back. The BPitch Control boss' latest instalment is the Turn Off Your Mind EP, comprising of two raw, unpolished tracks of pure techno magic produced on a Roland Aira TR-8, TVB 303 and a Jupiter Synth in Ellen's living room. The EP evokes music time travel – most reminiscent of her time spent DJing at E-Wrk, Planet and Tresor in 1990s Berlin. On the A-side sits 'Hoo'. A rolling 8:08 time span of kaleidoscopic acid-soaked patterns and a cyclical bass line, all generous on the reverb. Despite a low tessitura, 'Hoo's moments of euphoria are still palpable. Ellen brings the sheer joy and thrill back to Berlin techno.

29th April is the due date to turn up your speakers and Turn Off Your Mind. Grab it on Beatport a little earlier, from 18th April.

Bulgarian producer KiNK follows up releases on Pets Recordings and Running Back with his take on the 'Accident In Paradise', adding a whole new level of weirdness.

But who said weird is a bad thing? The whacky synths and squiggly rhythms he injects into this are the kind we love, so when the epic string work and rattling tribal drums seeped in on our first listen, we instantly stamped it with that A* grade.

Massimiliano Pagliara debuts on Ostgut Ton with his new EP, Time And Again.
Born and raised in the deep south of Italy Massimiliano Pagliara made his way to Berlin in 2001, quickly diving headfirst into the German capital’s club scene (particularly Berghain’s predecessor club, OstGut) until he started DJing in 2003. By the time of his joining with Ostgut Booking agency in October 2015 Massi had already constantly delivered – the DJ and producer has left a strong mark on House music throughout the years with energetic, playful and deep sets behind the decks, two acclaimed solo albums on Live At Robert Johnson and various collaboration projects. His residency at Panorama Bar therefore was a no-brainer – but the musical link by one of House music’s finest with the club’s label was still missing. Now Massi steps up with four new tracks and his first release on Ostgut Ton.
Heavily influenced by classic Chicago House, Electro and early Disco music Massi’s new EP serves as a cross-section of his musical interest as a producer and sonic palette as a selector. Florian Meindl surges ahead in 2017 as he returns once more to his home
base FLASH Recordings. He has been locked away in his studio and is now
ready to unleash his new album ‘Time Illusion’. With these album sessions
Florian has created a special collection of analogue focused tracks which will
be released on a double vinyl album and digitally in the Spring.

Amalgamating his array of impressive hardware, he has refined his sound and
crafted a selection of tracks that demonstrate intricate knowledge and mastery
of his analogue equipment. His aim was to find the right balance between
musical depth and sound design while interacting with the hardware.

In anticipation for the LP release in early April, Florian has prepared a unique
live set featuring a Modular System, the KORG Minilogue, effect boxes and a
909 drum machine which were used in the creation of the album and which he
will be touring throughout 2017.

tINI has years of musical experience to draw on when cooking up remixes. Given this, there’s good reason to be excited by the news that the Ibizan legend has reinterpreted Madrid Inc.’s classic track ‘My Sunday Love’. It’s a dark, groovy roller which you need to hear.

Her ‘Born In The 80ies Reinterpretation’ turns down the frenetic pace of the original and injects the track with a rolling, electro-tinged hook. The track features a skittish breakbeat that, like tINI’s best work, is as propulsive as it is minimal. tINI’s reinterpretation is sinister and groovy, and guaranteed to sound colossal on a good, Ibizan soundsystem.

The latest @Roam-Recordings is a tribute to Nicole Mason who passed in a tragic accident. Nicole was a major part of the featured artist collaboration @2-block-radius along with Tom Cloutman and Tee Cardaci founded in 1999. 

During the late 90s early 00s San Francisco was a hotbed for dance music. Musicians from around the word moved to the city and serendipitously ended up living within 2 Blocks from each other in the Lower Haight neighborhood. A community of artists and musicians sprouted up. Roam Recordings started there and label boss JP Soul ran a popular after hours spot next to the legendary DJ bar The Top. Tweakin’ Records was on the block and Nicole lived above the store where he kept a recording studio and was always around for deep conversation and a good laugh.

To commemorate his passing Roam Recordings is releasing this EP For Nicole. The original offering by Tom Cloutman is a beautiful deep house tune that captures the essence of the days of yore and the sound of 2 Block Radius. The EP also features three remixes from San Francisco family JP Soul, PillowTalk and Galen. 

All 3 remixes are very different and we loved them all in their own original way. As we could only share one though, we are happy to feature this customary smooth journey from the crooners PillowTalk (@pillow-talk-1). 

This dedication EP For Nicole is a slice of San Francisco that brings together many long standing members of the community.
