Ombra Boss, indelible romantic Curses, not content with recently releasing his debut album on Jennnifer Cardini's new imprint Dischi Autunno turns his attention to his own label with a split release from Mijo & Justine, Forty Fings Dynamo, Skelesys and this tasty little number from Niv Ast. 
We were lucky enough to catch up with him for a little Q & A:

PREMIERE | Niv Ast - One Hundred Cats [Ombra INTL] 2018

@LocalSuicide, aka Munich’s Brax Moody and Greek-born Vamparela make their debut on @LumiereNoireRecords. Following a string of successful releases on labels such as Bordello, My Favorite Robot, Multi Culti, Roam, Duro and OMBRA amongst others.

Fittingly, Lumière Noire or in English black light, as per the meaning of Chloé’s label’s name suitably describes the way Local Suicide’s music flirts with the more troubling zones of the listener’s psyche, where danger roams and aural comfort is no longer a guarantee.

The EP’s two original tracks set a dark, shifty sonic tableau, in which German-American multidisciplinary artist – and a unique personality of the Berlin underground – Nicki Fehr comes to blend his voice with Vamparela’s. With remixes from Smagghe & Cross, Niv Ast and Lauer.

On 'Already There' Local Suicide affirm their adherence to the more captivating signatures of new wave and post disco. Whilst Permanent Vacation (@permvac) stalwart Lauer adds a surprising electro pop shimmer to the track.

Here in Calypso we are big fans of Mytron & Ofofo. Their track Something for the mind was one of our favourite tracks a couple of years ago. So when Mytron came to us saying that he took it upon himself to re-work some of our Take Aways we were more than delighted and didn't hesitated to ask him if he will like to release them with us.
So here they are, Peru's Aristidez and Brazil's Celestino get the Mytron threatment to take their tracks even to newer heights. The result is funky and dirty as you would expect from the man.

Take them while they are hot.

Mt. Rave return with a fantastic single track outing for Slowciety after releasing their debut EP on the Paris-based label last year. The Mt. Rave duo, consisting of Slowciety co-founders Clint and 6tizen, turn open the taps once more. Following their dreamy account opener, they drive up the rhythm and intensity with 'Drumquest'. This driving, mid-tempo crowd pleasure is part of Slowciety's single-track series, which they launched last year with a track by Orsery.

White Privilege is a new label with an interesting approach when it comes to their releases: Hidden behind aliases, the real identity of the artists will remain unknown, creating a secret atmosphere and making us wonder who could be behind the curtains. The curator’s identity of the top-secret imprint shall remain in secrecy as well. What we were authorized to say is that WP is a Mexican label and, for this specific single, two Mexican producers teamed up to provide something unique, freestyle, and unforgettable.

Their second release, “Do U Fuck To Get High?”, was cooked with love by the duo Famou$ After Dead, formed by “DJ Apple II”, a prolific and skilled Deep House/House Music producer, and “DJ Disco Dust”, a troubled artist who had to disappear from the scene because of personal issues. Their single is a psychedelic magic discotheque bomb, bringing together the glitter from Studio 54 and the roughness of Techno, inspired by the legendary Mexican Hi-NRG club “Patrick Miller” and galvanized with samples from a special bootleg edition vinyl record by Sylvester.

The label launched in January 2019 and has featured a combination of singles and compilation releases with artists such as Sascha Funke, Curses, TAPAN, Damon Jee, Biesmans, Khidja, Italo Brutalo, Shubostar, Anatolian Weapons, and Tolouse Low Trax, to name a few and its objective is to promote positive social change and raise funds for our Sinchi Foundation, which supports Indigenous forest guardians in the Brazilian Amazon.
