NEIN RECORDS XMAS SHOW BEST OF 2016 -  TRONIK YOUTH

One of this staffers most favoured labels is Beachcoma, and next up is a three tracker from Norwell. Based in Budapest, he had releases on Rotterdam's Pinkman and Shabu Recordings in 2016. 'Citadel' kicks off like New Order's 'Sunrise', before some off-key modulation, lo-fi drums and high freqs ping it elsewhere. Delicately layered and intensely intriguing, slightly Holden-esque and quite beautifully sad, yet adamant.

Ukrainian artist The Organism is the entire example of what is said: multigenred, always unpredictable producer with the signature style embracing the best of hypnotic bass vibrations, the exciting vocals and the mystic ethnic sounds. Last year The Organism gained massive support thanking to his 'Reflection' track which was played by Solomun, Ame, Dixon which is pretty enough to say at this point, not saying about a line of dancefloors worldwide. All abovementioned makes us happy to introduce you one the most awaited releases this year for us: meet 'Gypsy' EP. Main title track has already impressed the thousands of people dancing to Diynamic's boss Solomun at his Cercle set at Théâtre Antique: dotty and accurate bass of the track comes out as a great platform of the whole track's mellow structure which is the perfect combination of the groovy and tense house beat with the melodic leitmotif. Non less than the electronic prodigy - that's how we can briefly describe Tim Engelhardt who is remixing 'Gypsy'. German producer who has so far released his music at such world renowned imprints as Steve Bug's Pokerflat, fryhide curated by HOSH, John Digweed's Bedrock which are the main but far not all on Tim's achievements list. Tim's remix is a steady filler of electric filtered bass which comes as a bone of this brilliant version. Progressive nature of 'Dioxide' with a dramatic melodies leads us to Eastern flavored 'Root'. Firmly built brand style of The Organism can be heard here in this release, whilst we work, keep and can't wait to share more music with you this year. With no boundaries, as a motto.

Alphonse Lanza the third is hitting the productions HARD at the moment alongside his beau Ximena, with EPs and remixes on Nein, Roam and Turbo.  
Their current sound is a million miles from his Azari & III moniker which absolutely dominated the mid Noughties seeing a Boiler Room set alongside Richie Hawtin as well as the infamous Grimes set.
For this EP on Roam, Jason Peters has seen fit to hand stem duties over to Raphael de Sauvage, the Belgium citizen responsible for Cabaret Nocturne. With Cab Nocturne recently attracting the attention of club giants like Dixon, this is bound to get some serious airplay. This is pure dancefloor carnage!

Premiere: The Organism - Dioxide [Eleatics Records]

Idle Press boss, DJ Sundae has crafted together a beautiful hour long mix for the 14th edition of the podcast series.

Sundae's Idle Press began by repressing the 1982 Pitch single - 'What Am I Gonna Do For Fun' and has gone on to release music from Smagghe & Cross, and recently an edits compilation of proto-trance tracks by Alexis Le-Tan. 

Alongside organising this stream of amazing releases on Idle Press, in 2016 Sundae put together a brilliant compilation of folk-pop, and new wave tracks, selected with fellow frenchman Julien Dechery. 'Sky Girl' has been noted as an essential album of the last few years. 

Sundae's impeccable taste can also be heard on his regular radio show, No Weapon is Absolute, which he co hosts with Cosmo Vitelli. Throughout this mix we are given a look into Sundaes unique taste that we have admired for a number of years. Make sure to watch out for upcoming Idle Press releases and all of DJ Sundaes radio shows and gigs.

Robi Insinna (Producer/DJ/Visual artist) founded the label “Relish"(@headman) in 2001 with a catalogue that spans various music genres. Since then Relish has collaborated with international talents and remixes such as Daniel Avery, Red Axes, Borusiade, Manfredas to name a few.

Their new compilation “REPIX” features Sutja Gutierrez remixed by Theus Mago & Id!r, M Love and @NivAst and Gil Abramov (aka Jilleto). The latter delivering “Oh Captain” which was recorded in Berlin in the early winter of 2018. It includes a variety of live instruments and experimental recordings combining their Rock’n’Roll and electronic influences.

The London-based duo (which had recently released another record on Rawax), has put together 4 tracks for this vinyl, showcasing two sides of their music making. A1 and B1 are both Electro and Jazzy jams, driven by dreamy piano melodies; while A2 and B2 are 4/4 dance floor driven cuts with focus on the drum programming. “It’s always an honour and a big responsibility to put together a ‘Best Of’ mix for Emerald & Doreen. How to do justice to the spirit of this unique eclec-tronic label? Luckily it has such a consistent output within a voluminous catalogue that compiling and mixing my favourite tracks off its busy release schedule usually delivers a lively, colourful mix reflecting this ace German imprint's artistic freedom and unbridled diversity, a kind of restless, captivating sonic journey pieced together from a collection of pretty faultless tunes - not that a hard task with so many killer compositions and remixes to choose from.

This latest edition is no different, and actually suggests an even more exciting outcome as - believe it or not - a pattern of sound, almost a style, is emerging in Emerald & Doreen's international stable of artists/contributors (and beyond, to be truthful). Here and there in the old continent, and pretty much all over the globe, a ‘vintage' mood is building and coming to the fore in electronic music. More and more, DJs, producers, musicians are harping back to its very beginnings for inspiration, the late 70s, early 80s when expensive technological toys - effect units, synthesisers, drum machines, midi & sequencers, samplers… - started to take over in studios from the usual way of making records (musicians playing traditional instruments without a computer in sight). No wonder, this golden era of innocence and groundbreaking changes remains the ultimate reference, a precious time of discoveries, trials and errors (with  little defined formulas to cash in), which unequivocally shaped the future without any complexes and opened the door to worlds of imaginative developments.

And indeed a lot of the tracks in this Emerald & Doreen mix - many of them carefully re-edited, tightened up to seamlessly blend into each other and sustain attention - are rooted in the euro-disco and primal dancefloor experiments of yore. Call it ‘euro retro’ or what you like, there is a strong desire to re-define the present with a timeless sound whilst escaping the uniformisation of most of today's productions by going back to basics, back to the original sounds and machines which paved the way for electronic disco and dance. Arpeggiated basslines, robotic grooves, huge gated claps & snares, evocative analog synths, cinematic landscapes... there's drama in the air and the thundering repetitive sequences that keep you grooving and swaying are unequivocal, the offsprings of the greatest producers of yesteryear are truly alive and kicking. 

2019 is looking good - at least from a musical point of view. For decades American disco has been the dominating force - and for good reason - the landmark, the start of it all, however it feels timely for Europe and its clubbing legacy to finally get the accolades it duly deserves. At long last it is acknowledged and appreciated that Europe and its electronic blueprints contributed massively to laying the foundations of modern electronic dance music. Today it is feeding again a whole new generation of producers hungry for quality and authenticity, and that truly can only be a great thing."

@LocalSuicide, aka Munich’s Brax Moody and Greek-born Vamparela make their debut on @LumiereNoireRecords. Following a string of successful releases on labels such as Bordello, My Favorite Robot, Multi Culti, Roam, Duro and OMBRA amongst others.

Fittingly, Lumière Noire or in English black light, as per the meaning of Chloé’s label’s name suitably describes the way Local Suicide’s music flirts with the more troubling zones of the listener’s psyche, where danger roams and aural comfort is no longer a guarantee.

The EP’s two original tracks set a dark, shifty sonic tableau, in which German-American multidisciplinary artist – and a unique personality of the Berlin underground – Nicki Fehr comes to blend his voice with Vamparela’s. With remixes from Smagghe & Cross, Niv Ast and Lauer.

On 'Already There' Local Suicide affirm their adherence to the more captivating signatures of new wave and post disco. Whilst Permanent Vacation (@permvac) stalwart Lauer adds a surprising electro pop shimmer to the track.
