Pardon Moi is the Berlin-based New Wave Duo featuring the British producer and song writer James Brook & German producer and DJ Thomas Freudenthal. „Addiction“ sounds like John Foxx and Gary Numan joined forces with the global chug, dark disco and synth wave haute volée. This track would have been in the UK Top 20 in 1981, for at least three weeks, we are sure! And the remixes are great too! The Kike am Radar remix adds some high noon post-punk edge to the game, James Rod turns „Addiction“ into a dusty, slow motion new wave monster from outer space. K-Effect turn it into a chuggy synth wave groove and MontCosmic's punchy remix is maybe the tightest of them all with its anthemic vocals, driving new beat acid synths, hypnotic grooves and heavy handclaps. The Catalonian producer, multi-instrumentalist and Sound Engineer Eduard Tarradas aka Clip will release Gamma Ray, a single EP released on digital version by Seeking the Velvet Records in collaboration with Red Bull Music Academy Spain, featuring remixes by Cora Novoa and Tadeo, as a teaser of his highly anticipated debut album to be released by SKTVT in a Vinyl edition next October.

Named after stellar phenomena, on these two new tracks Clip returns to action with a 100% analogical production using drum machines and modular analog synthesizers. The first track, “Gamma Ray” is an explosion of analog techno unfolding deep inside our brains while the second “Applegate Mechanism” immerse us in a long term orbital period through its pads and sound universe.
Gamma Ray EP features remixes by Spanish composer and Seeking the Velvet Creative Director Cora Novoa –who draws sound landscapes rich in details with an overwhelming instrumental base that bring us to the deepest evocations of the Amazonian jungle- and Madrid-based DJ, producer and label manager Tadeo, acclaimed as one of the Spanish Techno artists with a solid international following. Beyond his own labels (Cyclical Tracks, NET28, Another Intelligence), Tadeo’s latest album was released by Psyk’s label NON SERIES. Tadeo’s reinterpretation of “Gamma Ray” is a techno-futurism track that show us his unique sound universe full of mental sounds and groovy sequences.

The cover features an artwork signed by Spanish Visual Artist & Designer Viktor Autofocus, one-half of the Design & Art Direction duo Realmente Bravo who created the artwork for Agorazein’s latest album –collective leaded by rapper C. Tangana.

This new 12" features 4 edits by Moscovian Dj and producer Grisha Nelyubin, also part of the Odopt project, under his new moniker Blind Rape. Using unexpected material, from percussive Brazilian obscurities to lost French 80s tapes, ex-Yugoslavian EBM or early 70s heavy krautrock, Nelyubin delivers 4 powerful dancefloor friendly edits which already show a very personal touch.

PREMIERE : Blind Rape - Long Journey To Liman

After four years of much talked about parties featuring the likes of DJ Pierre, Leftfield, Hardfloor and Joey Beltram, amongst others, @memoryboxparties starts its own exciting imprint aimed at keeping the acid house sound alive. It comes from the acclaimed producer and Memory Box head honcho Robin Ball, who is also known for his work as Resonators and his recently re-launched Groovepressure label.

The menacing ‘Acid Stomp’ kicks things off with gurgling 303 lines whipping about above raw, lo-fi beats, followed by 'Acid Duck’, a deeper, more heady cut,  a remix of  ‘Sqolch’, a track he made with Neil Tibbetts. 

And last of all, ‘Back in the Dayz’ from MVDC (@vitamin-discount-center) already featured on Radio 1 is a top old school affair with chattery claps, loopy sub bass and that raw energy that will be sending many a dance floor into a frenzy.

This is a fantastic start to the new label, and one that promises to be as pivotal as the Memory Box parties themselves.

The tenth delivery of Playground Records comes from the hands of Marzian, a new producer from Buenos Aires who joins our favorite artists.
The remix of Bien Turro by Thomass Jackson takes the hypnotic atmosphere and with a sharp arpeggio gives it light and transforms it into a positive spell dance. Highlighting the guitars of the original adds a Mexican western climate and the boots dance to the voodoo spell in the Sonoran desert.

Julian Grefe is the creative force behind Pink Skull (Beachcoma, RVNG, My Favorit Robot, Days of Being Wild) and long standing ambient project Clean Plate (RVNG, Metal Postcards).
He makes his debut on Areal Records, stripping it all down to synths only and transforming his live percussion work into two propulsive polyrhythmic numbers.
The title track Nil is a Fm Bell workout that slowly evolves to an ethereal conclusion, whilst LogOn/LogOff is a tough, earthier stomp to save for later in the evening.
A marvelous remix of Nil by Yapacc concludes this release.

Sinchi & Friends 45 invites @Buran_uk from Manchester.  The duo has made quite a name for themselves in the last year with some excellent productions on the likes of Night Noise, Det Sync and Roam alongside Heretic.  We're big fans of their sound and reckon they're one of the hottest upcoming producers to keep an eye on. Get to know them a little more below...

1) Who are you?

We are Ian and Joe, we work together under the name Buran. We’ve been producing music together for years including some commercial stuff and another project. 

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

We have had an interesting 12 months – we were house mates for many years and had pretty serious studio in the house. This year we have finally stopped living together and so have split the studio and gear down the middle taking a dedicated setup each and bouncing elements back and forth. It’s been a learning experience but very positive over all. Musically we have been working with Timothy ‘Heretic’ Clerkin a bit and that has been mega fun too. We’ve also recently bought some more Elektron gear, that is proving really inspirational which is good because we can’t afford to eat now. 

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

Out next release ‘Grid Squares’ is due on Night Noise in early September – we’ve got a huge remix from Oli Warriner on there so we are mega excited about that. Beyond that release we have a couple of bits coming up – we are sort of sitting on some really groovy minimal / progressive stuff. That’s an EP we will be finding a home for soon we hope... We also have more stuff with Timothy Clerkin currently underway – that is going to be good. Finally, we are working on a very analogue, hardware based EP which we are writing using the latest iteration of our live rig – expect to hear some of that soon – we’ve only restarted it about 3 times which is good for us.

Sinchi & Friends 45 - Buran

Fresh from providing Futureboogie’s pivotal 50th release back in March, Christophe leads the charge on the label’s annual Summer Riot compilation EP, now on its sixth installment.  On “West Side Critters”, a bold and brooding kick drum that the early acid pioneers would be proud of, tethers a malleable acid bassline to its stable pattern, whilst incessant cow bells, distant tom hits and metallic piano chords pep up the production for another class track from Christophe. The Mexican duo, Zombies In Miami, have impressed for labels like Love On The Rocks and Correspondent over the years, and bring their own brand of spiritual dance to the Summer Riot party.  A collage of colour erupts on “The Legends Of The Hidden Temple” premiered here, with sitars, guitars, vocals and synths all weaving their magic over a chugging house beat with a bubbling acid underbelly. Formerly one half of previous FBR recording artists, Lizards, Lee Forster teams up with Ollie Warriner (Tunnyl Records) for a their new Forriner project, contributing the excellent “Spero” to the comp. Warming pads glide over lazy percussive beats, as a piano motif holds the breakdown before kickstarting the track to its glorious groovy finale. Bringing the Summer Riot VI to a cosmically charged ending, Yuki Tosaya channels the spirits of 1990’s ambient house in a superb track titled “Acid Dawn Breaks”.  Chugging, transcendental house at its finest, Tosaya teases 303s, piano riffs and cascading synths in a production that will no doubt see the break of dawn at many gatherings for a good while to come.

Berlin New Wave duo Pardon Moi consisting of @Freudenthal and James Brook penned the evocative “Power to the People” along with “Touch2Much” for Hoga Records. In the “Power to the People Remixes” EP, Roam Recordings has gathered together a dream team of remixers - Damon Jee, Markus Gibb, and Curses - who each put their own spin on the originals. Damon Jee starts it out with an an energetic version of Power to the People. Markus Gibb moves Power to the same track into slightly darker and heavier territory.

Switching gears though and our personal favourite - @Cursesforever takes on Touch2Much keeping the 80s vibe alive with a stylish upbeat dub that’s both quirky and fun.
